Why stay here ...

North Yorkshire Moors Club Campsite is set within the relaxing and tranquil surrounds of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, the setting for the Heartbeat television series. Some pitches of the caravan site are pleasantly spacious and open or there is also a choice of more secluded locations, sheltered by trees. There are some spectacular moorland views from the western side of the site with the North Yorkshire Moors being a paradise for walkers. This site as well as surrounding North Yorkshire caravan sites offer a variety of beautiful dog walks.

When visiting North Yorkshire Moors Club Campsite, you will have over 1,300 miles of footpaths to choose from, many of which can be joined from the park. For less energetic holiday makers at the caravan site, there are scenic drives through moorlands and forests. Having completed your explorations of such natural beauty, why not pass a restful day enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the countryside in all its splendour. Another way to enjoy the incredible scenery is via the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, with magnificent steam trains to ride on and journey stops at beautiful rural stations, such as those at Goathland and Grosmont villages. If you fancy a change of scene, why not head to the coast and take in a visit to Whitby, with its harbour and lovely views from the cliff tops either side of the estuary. You are sure to be inspired by such magnificent views, making this a break to remember.

Please note: this site does not have a toilet block.

Lovely this site, so lovely and peaceful

North Yorkshire Moors Club Campsite
This site is a little gem! A very peaceful and well kept, quiet and friendly site. There are walks into the woods, to the waterfall, onto the moors straight from the site. Perfect for dogs! We towed a car and took trips to the nearby seaside towns of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey. It was well worth it and wonderful to get back to site in the late afternoon and relax. I think this site is made quieter by not having a facilities block, so absolute peace and quiet in the evenings and the mornings. Lovely to sit and listen to the birds and watch the squirrels. We even saw deer in the woodland adjaceent to the site. We will definitely be back here.

Amazing peaceful stay

North Yorkshire Moors Club Campsite
We have recently returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at this site. It was our first time staying here but won't be our last. The wardens were fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful. The pitches are spacious and allow you to enjoy the nature and wildlife on site. The site was very well kept. Kids are catered for with an onsite crazy golf pitch , Boules pitch and on our stay a treasure hunt. The entrance to the site also has a lovely picnic area. The wonderful town of Whitby is a short 5 miles drive away and Goathland (Heartbeat country) around the same distance. There is a lovely walk direct from the site to Fallingfoss waterfall and Robins Hood Ba, Runswick Bay and Scarborough are all a short drive from the site> Despite no toilet block the site has plenty of service points and the site shop is very well stocked. Well worth a visit !

Possibly become our favourite site

North Yorkshire Moors Club Campsite
We have stayed on this site twice the most recent visit being may 22. We love the peace and quiet and the lovely walks. Various dog walk areas at each end of the well laid out pitches are excellent. The site itself is kept immaculate by the wardens who are all very friendly and helpful. There are lots to do and places to visit within a short distance of the site, we will be returning for another week's holiday in July 👍. It has quite possibly become our favourite caravan site 🙄👍

Perfect experience

North Yorkshire Moors Club Campsite
What a find. Karen and Kevin were the perfect hosts. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable and seem to work non stop at keeping the site clean and tidy. Fantastic local ice cream in the reception with other items well stocked. Views to die for from our pitch and a couple of fantastic dog runs, which are fenced in for free running if required and we used regularly. Although there are no toilet or shower facilities, this is not a problem for us as we have our own. May put off families but again fine for us as we prefer quieter sites to be able to unwind and relax on. A few families were enjoying a game of boules and mini crazy golf. We had intended to visit Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay but once we got to site we just stayed local (Falling Foss and Maybeck trail walks are beautiful) and hardly actually moved from site save a trip to Sainsburys for some Saturday night nibbles. 100% worthy of its 5 paws rating. :-) We will most definitely be booking again. Thankyou for a wonderful stay.

Peace and Quiet

North Yorkshire Moors Club Campsite
Just spent 5 nights at this lovely site, a chance to meet up with some friends and have a wander round Whitby on Goth weekend. Nice and easy to find with a long, quiet access road. A warm welcome at reception, info given and payment made. Plenty of pitches to choose from, found a spot in one of the circular glades, fabulous big pitches, no weeds, well gravelled and level. Friends arrived and selected adjacent pitches. It wasn't until I had pitched up, settled down when I realised I had chosen an area with no EE or TV reception, the site wifi didn't reach that area either. Not a huge problem but one to be mindful of. My friend had reception on her phone though on Vodaphone. There is no toilet or shower block, which could be a problem for those who don't use their on-board facilities. It's about 5 miles to Whitby from the site, so having transport is a must if you want to do the sites. The park and ride is great value for money, runs every 15 minutes and well worth the hassle free parking. I can recommend doing the Rail Trail walk starting at Goathland then about 3.5miles walk to Grosmont (do it that way otherwise there are more up hill parts if coming from Grosmont!) There is the added bonus of a pub right next to the train station at Grosmont to quench your thirst whilst waiting for the steam train to ride back to Goathland. We had a lovely day, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Back to the site. It's in a very quiet area, no road noise. There is no playground and I wouldn't really recommend it for families. There is a small crazy golf pitch and a boules area, clubs, balls and boules can be hired from reception. We had a lovely afternoon playing boules...please note, drinking wine is compulsory whilst playing! The site is beautifully maintained and a credit to the wardens. Booked again for the Whitby Regatta and looking forward to returning.
