Hi everyone,

As requested, I've created a tutorial video for those who would like some help uploading photo and video on Club Together. Feel free to use this thread to practice!

If you have any further questions please let me know smile

I tried a few time before the 'upgrade' to post a picture and never got anywhere. If it's that convoluted to post a picture here that we need a tutorial, I'm not even attempting another failure.

Funny how I can easily post pictures on other forums I visit ... paste the URL, enclose it with img tags ... job done

Using Paint to resize images.

Please be aware that Paint will not automatically save the original image...it will replace it with the new much smaller image.

It needs to be 'Save As' and given another/different name.

This should be indicated in the actual instructions at the top of this thread.

Thanks.

I think they have gone down the route of trying to make it easier to post pictures on the forum from all platforms. This is quite a big compromise and is quite limiting. In order to avoid the need for every photograph to have a URL we are in effect loading the photograph into the forum memory. Whether this will eventually come back and bite them in the bum I am not sure. By making it easy for anyone to load direct from their computer/tablet they have taken away a great deal of flexibility in terms of size and number of photographs. Perhaps this is not an issue if you want to post a couple of pictures into a discussion but in a retrograde step as far as the story section is concerned.

Whilst I understand the need to have a maximum, kb size it is a shame the software does not automatically resize the photo to fit the screen width rather than just having a thumbnail.

It's ok to require an external source for video clips, but not for photos. Why? The 'design' team have responded to a request to make the addition of photos to discussions easier, however they have come up with a cack-handed solution. Who wanted thumbnails enlargeable to fuzzy popouts?

The new method may limit the volume of storage required for photos, but isn't what was needed. Can we have a url based facility as well?

I want the new photo system for one. The only fault I see with it is that it does not resize the photos and that has to be done manually. If by a URL based system, you mean uploading photos on to an external site and then accessing them from there, then I don't want to do that. By all means have that as an available alternative, but don't do away with this new system, that allows photos to be easily transferred from photos on my pad into a post, and totally skips the external site.

I have had no problem posting pictures or video using Window 7 or Android versions 6 and 4 although I have noticed hic cups in other areas on version 4 which are not present on version 6. I don't have any Apple hardware so cannot comment on that.

Think my other half's tablet is Android version 2, I'll check and see how that works. I can also test using MS XP!

FYI if you right click on the thumbnail and then select "view image" you see the whole picture and have no need to scroll. It is the same on a tablet, tap and hold then release and select "View image".

On my iPad peedee, you have to hold on image and select open in new tab, which gives the full image. Otherwise the image requires scrolling.

How have you got your avatar to show a screen show?
