View and BookA popular site in North Yorkshire, Richmond Hargill House Club Campsite in Gilling West, Richmond is a conveniently short distance off the A1 and adjacent to the A66. You will be pitching on a grassy, gently sloping location with magnificent views southwards over the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It would be a waste to use this caravan park merely as a stopover - it has a wealth of fun activities to make your family holiday memorable.
Set in the famous area of James Herriot's novels, Richmond Hargill House Club Campsite offers the opportunity to see many of the locations used within the famous series with your own eyes. The park is also the area where our greatest landscape artist, J M W Turner, travelled, painted and found the subjects for some of his most unforgettable watercolours. The local Tourist Association publishes a Turner Trail leaflet for walkers to explore, with seating placed conveniently at many of the locations from which to view the beautiful scenery that inspired his legendary images.
The area offers transport links, with a bus service into Darlington and Richmond. The site is also well placed to visit the city of Durham, with iconic cathedral and picturesque location, and vibrant Newcastle, which offers great shopping and lots of places to eat and drink along the Quayside.
