Great site

Wonderful site with easy access from M25 junction 1, were towing a car and had no problem with route. Good size pitches although some are sloping. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy access to underground station 22 minutes to Oxford Street, £6.00 return. Large car park by station with Free parking for Blue Badge holders. Site is secure with vehicle gate locked at 22.00, Pedestrian gate is open all night, with car park outside for late arrival and late returns. Only issue is the Foxes but do not leave things out and no problem. Will definitely return.

Lovely site

Amazing location for its peace and tranquility and proximity to London, the new Elizabeth line is just a 10 minute walk from the site direct into the heart of the city, and even though we were there over the Platinum Jubilee weekend it was never crowded. We found the staff very friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful, regrettable we didn’t take their advice, when we checked in they pointed out that the foxes were very naughty and advised not to leave anything out, pointing to a box of chewed shoes, we were smug, we’re ok everything was safe in the awning, big mistake, huge mistake, it transpires they can get in the smallest of gaps and sleep on chairs, we’ve scrubbed, pressure washed, dismantled and put the chairs into the washing machine, and still they smell so strong that we can’t use them, so make sure you take the wardens advice and don’t give them the chance

A Revelation

What a great site, now made even better with the opening of the Elizabeth line. The site itself is a lovely green space in an urban setting. The Wardens are lovely, they keep the place beautifully clean and tidy and nothing's too much trouble. Central London is now only about 25 minutes away on a clean, bright, spacious and quiet train. This is now the site to stay at in London. There are just a couple of downsides: firstly satellite reception is poor but they have aerial sockets on the power posts and secondly, Abbey Wood itself is a bit run down with one poor pub and one decent restaurant (the Taj Mahal). There’s a lot of building work going on, however, so give it a couple of years and I’m sure there’ll be more choice. I thoroughly recommend this site to you.

Don’t tell anyone

Don’t tell your friends about this site or they will want to go as well and there might not be space for us the next time we go back. This site is just lovely. An hour into London on the train and tube (£14.40 for a day ticket all over London) and loads of trains til midnight. We went for a Queens Garden Party and with all this COVID we just don’t like hotels any more. When we did the sums this is way cheaper. Trip from Manchester : about £120 in diesel, 2 nights £76, two days passes on the London Trains so all in bout £240 compared with £400 on the train and some dodgy Travel Inn or similar for another £200. I know which I prefer. The site is an oasis in big London, spotless, quiet, really nicely laid out, great wardens and so on. But don’t tell anybody, agreed ?

Consistently good

Just back from our second stay at Abbey Wood and it won't be our last. We have a daughter living in London and Abbey Wood is the perfect base for us to visit from in our camper. Peaceful, spotless, great staff. This site fools you into thinking you've pitched up in the countryside somewhere and once inside the gates, you'd never know you've got a major city in easy reach. What more could you ask for? We are always impressed with the tidiness and cleanliness of the site, pitches and facilities at Abbey Wood. I mean... regularly leaf-blowing the site roadways and paths?? Above and beyond :) Add to that the fact that the site is easy to get to and you've got a great train link into the city just 10 minutes walk away and it works great for a city (but feels like country) break. We love it here and will be back soon.

Straightforward access; woodland oasis; easy journey into London.

We accessed CMC Abbey Wood via the M25 Junction 2, which is straightforward and well sign posted (‘International Caravan and Camping.’) The site is a woodland oasis within an urban environment and looks and feels safe and secure. Site staff are welcoming and very helpful. Onsite facilities are good and are to a high standard. On our first full day we cycled from Abbey Wood to Greenwich via Woolwich Arsenal. It’s an exhilarating ride and takes in several historic landmarks along the Thames. (See Cycle route in London | The Caravan Club) Greenwich National Maritime Museum is a must (free entry). So too is a walk up to the Royal Observatory where the Prime Meridian can be straddled. We also took the train from Abbey Wood station (5 mins walk) into either London Bridge (for Borough Market, The Shard and HMS Belfast) or Charring Cross (for all things Westminster). We used Visa Debit cards to gain entry onto the rail and tube network. This worked out at no more than £10 return per person. This was our first visit to Abbey Wood, and we shall return.

Wonderful site!

When you pull through the gates, you forget you are in the middle of London! It is so peaceful and green. The staff were lovely, all very helpful and friendly. We were here for one night to go to a concert at the O2 arena and I'm so glad we chose to stay here rather than the extortionate prices of London hotels. We drove up from the South coast and it was a pretty easy journey (although I wish we'd look closer at the instructions to get to the site as we ended up driving around narrow, residential streets!). We chose to get a cab to the arena to save a bit of time and it was about 15 mins and reasonably priced for four of us. The site was clean, well laid out - just beautiful. We will definitely return for a longer visit as it's perfect for exploring London. We loved it!

GREAT LOCATION AND FIRST CLASS SITE

This was the third time we have stayed at Abbey Wood and as before the site is well organised and is a great location for exploring London - only 30 mins or so to London Bridge by train or water bus. You wouldn't believe how quiet the site is once you are through the gates! Do follow the access directions to ease the stress of the drive through the London suburbs! There is plenty to do nearby, a short walk away is Lesnes Abbey which has great views over London and the Crossness Power Station is well worth a visit too.

A GREAT STAY AT CAMC ABBEY WOOD

What a great site, as has been said before a haven of peace away from the hub bub. WONDERFULL on site team - nothing too much trouble, the site is IMMACULATE and very well kept. Train into London worked very well, use Travelcard for 1/2 price on some major attractions eg Tower, Tower Bridge, St Paul's etc. We will be back ! Thanks J&C
