Legendary Wales and British and Irish Lions captain and fly-half Phil Bennett has died at the age of 73.

He is regarded as one of the greatest players to wear the fabled number 10 shirt for Wales and the Lions. What a player, one of the Greats!!

Here is the obituary to him on the BBC Sport website

I seem to recall that he was the very 'springboard'  for THAT TRY  Wtg ! !

May I, as a mere Englishman, be permitted to say how very much we rated the man as one of the finest who we dreaded coming up against!

Rest in Peace Phil & Thank you !

A real gentleman and a role model for many. Sadly his likes are rarely seen these days. Talented beyond belief and the best side step artist ever, a real rugby hero. RIP Mr. Bennett.
