Why stay here ...

Peace and tranquillity reign at the Nunnykirk Club Campsite, making it a haven for wildlife and a bird watchers dream come true. Those who enjoy hill walking will find the Simonside Hills, located near to the caravan site, particularly splendid. They make for a place where you can breathe fresh air, enjoy the space and open countryside all around you, whilst shrugging off the troubles of the everyday world.

All is peace at Nunnykirk Club Campsite and yet this part of England has seen some of the hardest fought border battles in history. If evidence of this was needed, Hadrian's Wall can be found in the south of the county. This Roman site can be visited from the caravan park and will be an educational treat for youngsters, and keen walkers will be sure to want to experience the Hadrian's Wall path walk. Indeed you'll find a number of historical attractions a short distance away from many of our Northumberland caravan sites, giving you plenty of options when heading away. A perfect antidote to modern life, you are sure to return from your break refreshed and revitalised.

Please note: this site does not have a toilet block.

Peaceful and quiet.

Nunnykirk Club Campsite
First stay at this site, grass pitches that are fairly solid. Needed levellers on our pitch, EHU and tv booster used. Two mile (ish) dog walk from the site to Nunnykirk Village. No toilet/shower block, but grey/chemical waste available. Overall a lovely site and the wardens, as usual are friendly and helpful.

Lovely peaceful site

Nunnykirk Club Campsite
This site is in the middle of the country side away from everywhere. The staff were lovely and the servicing facilities are fine, the site has well spaced pitches and an adjacent dog walk. Just be aware that if you want to go anywhere or get anything you will need to drive.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC

Nunnykirk Club Campsite
What an amazing site. We only met Sue, the relief warden, what a lovely, friendly lady!!!! The site itself was so well laid out over three areas. We were in the furthest area over the little bridge. Beautiful!! Half the caravans backed onto a little stream. Would highly recommend!!! With regards to the other reviews that mention problems with dogs. Whilst we were staying there everyone had their dogs on leads, however, some sites you visit you do come across dogs that are loose.. Sadly some people don’t adhere to signage, even when it is stated clearly that dogs should stay on leads!! As a dog owner with a rescue dog that has got a lot of emotional issues due to having been previously attacked by a dog and severely beaten by his last owner, the last thing we want is a rogue dog, no matter how nice and well behaved the owner says it is, approach us. I think you will always get the odd loose dog regardless.

Good site

Nunnykirk Club Campsite
We enjoyed our stay at this site. Everywhere was well kept and the surroundings were very attractive. There is good spacing of vans and the layout with the different areas was good. There is a nice permitted path alongside the site for strolling or dog walking. The relief wardens Sue and Mick were really brilliant. They were so helpful and cheerful and couldn't have been better. Sue always had time for a good chat . Mick was always busy keeping everywhere in great order. It's a good day out to enjoy the coast from here. So not for you if that's what you want. But Craster and Beadnell are worth a visit. There are 2 excellent National Trust properties within a few miles. Wallington and Cragside are both a good day out with lots to see.Hadrian's wall and visitor centre at Housestead is an hour away but worth a visit. Rothbury is a lovely place with free parking and a riverside setting. The Rothbury family butchers do excellent sausages and pies. Squirrels and birds can be seen at the site. Only downside were the people with yapping dogs who spoilt the peace and quiet from time to time.

Really good site, but can sympathise with others' criticisms...

Nunnykirk Club Campsite
We enjoyed our week here, and were in a spacious part of the site, and the wardens seemed very efficient. Good location for some stunning walks, particularly the Simonside Hills, and two National Trust properties. But I can sympathise with the two reviewers who complained about loose dogs. Unfortunately a few years ago, the Club bosses in their ivory tower, ordered the wardens to remove the signage asking people to keep their dogs on leads, so as not to upset owners, and effectively left the wardens with one arm tied behind their back. You can't trust everyone to do the right thing, otherwise there would be no need for police...
