A warm welcome and an interesting layout

Glenross Caravan and Camping Park

We received a warm and friendly welcome, and all amenities were pointed out as we were shown to our reserved pitch - a slightly sloping long hard standing with a nice view of the sea in the distance. The site has a really interesting layout - mainly long concrete hardstanding pitches (cars and caravans parked end on), and beautifully maintained grass spaces in between each. The pitches are set at angles to each other so the site feels less ‘regimented’ in layout than some sites. At quiet times it feels really relaxed and spacious - however we arrived in the middle of the August bank holiday weekend when the site was incredibly busy, with all designated pitches full, and pretty much every grass space between hardstandings also filled with extra units. In fairness, people managed well in these more crowded conditions, and the site was completely silent from 11pm. Dogs were left unattended in a couple of caravans so there was some barking in the evening. Showers cost €1 and there is free WiFi, although we found this to be a bit patchy and unreliable (maybe because it was such a busy time?). We didn’t go to the hotel next door, but it did look really nice. We found the nearby Ashes pub to be lively and welcoming, with a good atmosphere. They also had live music each evening from 9.30pm. You can have a pleasant stroll from the site, down a country lane, along the beach, then back up to the village, pick up a bit of shopping and have a drink on the way back into the site. Really relaxing.

An excellent site

Glenross Caravan and Camping Park
We had a very good holiday here in June 2017 we stayed for 8 days. It was very close to the ring of Kerry although we didn't have time to go exploring as our dog was sick. But the hotel just outside was very welcoming and Irish music on nearly every night. It was also a fairly short walk into the village which had everything we needed. The site owners were lovely and everything was really clean. It seems a bit expensive but most sites are and it was very good value. So here's to our next trip and we'll definitely be going back. I've only starred 3 for good for families as we didn't have ours with us.

What a gem!

Glenross Caravan and Camping Park
We also stayed mid September and coincided with the very noisy wedding party next door but that was no fault of the site, it also rained a lot! The site is immaculate, beautifully maintained, the owners could not have been more helpful, full of information regarding walks, places to visit and directions to where ever we wanted to go. A very high standard site with amazing views, excellent spotless toilet blocks and laundry. going back asap!!!

Good for touring.

Glenross Caravan and Camping Park
We stayed in Glenross in the middle of September and found it to be a terrific and scenic site.  The facilities are excellent and spotless. The hotel next door is very pleasant as an amenity.  Unfortunately  for us a two-night wedding party was accompanied by a live band on the first night and a disco on the second night which went on very loudly until three am in the marquee in the garden. Weddings notwithstanding it is an excellent site for visiting around Dingle Bay and the Ring of Kerry.

Excellent in every way!

Glenross Caravan and Camping Park

We spent eight nights at Glenross at the end of August when the site was relatively quiet. Glenross is perfectly positioned - on the ring of Kerry, close to Glenbeigh village with all its amenities and stunning Rossbeigh beach. Nearly all the pitches have views across to the Dingle peninsula and within a couple of hundred metres of the site gates there is a pub with regular live music and excellent food. The facilities were scrupulously clean and the staff friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. In short, our stay there was perfect - even the weather was fine! We can thoroughly recommend this site to anyone planning a visit to the Ring of Kerry.
