Silverbank Club Campsite is an open location just off the Aberdeen to Braemar Road; it runs parallel with the River Dee through some absolutely splendid countryside. Nearby Banchory is a popular little holiday town offering a wealth of activities for all the family, including pony trekking, fishing and a golf course. Whilst staying at the caravan site, you will want to take the time to visit Cairngorm National Park and Aberdeen, the capital of the Grampian Highlands and Britain's Cleanest City. Just some of the highlights this city boasts are its floral displays, clean sandy beach, narrow cobbled streets, busy harbour and educational Maritime Museum. For the children, there is a fun Science Centre with over 50 hands-on interactive exhibits and live science shows as well as the family history shop.
There are plenty of excellent walking choices available from Silverbank Club Campsite, including some lovely dog walks. A 2.5 mile saunter will bring you to the Bridge of Feugh where you can sometimes spot salmon leaping up the falls. For a longer walk, explore Glen Muik where you can go right around the Loch and will almost certainly spot deer. The site is also a great base for exploring fascinating historic sites such as Crathes Castle which has an adventure playground for children, Drum Castle and Gardens, and the beautiful castle and grounds at Balmoral.
With all these local activities at hand, this caravan park makes for a memorable family holiday.

Directions
Turn left off the A90 (Laurencekirk - Aberdeen) on the outskirts of Stonehaven (ignore the first signpost to A92, Stonehaven, Banchory) onto the A957 (signposted Spurryhillock, Stonehaven, Banchory). Continue past the industrial estate. At the T-junction turn left and almost immediately right (about 180 metres) into Farrochie Road. At the roundabout continue left onto the A957 (signposted Banchory). In about 12 miles at the T-junction turn left into the road signposted Braemar. The site is on the left on approaching outskirts of Banchory (200yds past 30mph sign and signpost Banchory). From the west: follow the A93 to Banchory. In the town centre go straight on at the traffic lights. The site is on the right in 1.5 miles. From the east: follow the A93 to the outskirts of Banchory (Tesco on the right). The site is on the left, 22 yards past the 30MPH sign. Please only use these recommended directions for the final approach and not SatNav, due to alternative routes being unsuitable for towing. Access via B974 is not recommended.

Superbly maintained site.
Silverbank Club Campsite
My wife and I stayed for 7 nights in May, our first visit.
We were impressed by the friendly and efficient wardens who worked tirelessly maintaining the site to an excellent standard. With regard the last reviewer’s comment, we received a friendly reminder by phone two days before arrival regarding the ‘new’ arrival time of 13:00 and received a very friendly and efficient welcome on arrival. We were fast tracked onto the site with check in effected later after pitching. The site is accessed directly from the main road with very little room to accommodate a queue and this fast track approach worked excellently. The ‘new’ arrival time is now universal and I suggest all members get used to it.
First class site beautifully maintained by very friendly and efficient wardens. Any number of attractions in and around Royal Deeside catering for all tastes.
Will certainly visit again when touring in this part of Scotland.
Disappointing and noisy
Silverbank Club Campsite
We were greeted by a stern waving on as we arrived 10mins early. Be warned that it says 12 in the book and the actual time to arrive is 1 pm. The first set of wardens were unpleasant but the second set far better.
There is a washing machine that cost £4 a cycle, but doesn’t have facilities to spin or add fabric conditioner. The tumble dryer at £1 per 15 minutes. There is no iron or board.
There is a useful information kiosk with also second hand book swap near the site entrance.
There is a fair amount of noise from the busy main road (A93) running directly at the side of the site, and it continues throughout the night. It’s worse when there are fewer caravans/ motor homes on site.
There was also some noise from the sawmill adjacent, inconsiderate guests and the first warden on his loud vehicle at 09.04 on a Saturday morning onwards.
There is a pleasant walk into Banchory village left out of the site and turn left immediately after it. It drops down to the river and you can go along as far as the hotel and onwards into the village, around 1.6 miles.
Crathes Castle is a National Trust property about a mile away and with a visit.
The pitches are a reasonable size but it would be preferable to face the woods and river, if only club rules allowed, in order to enjoy the lovely views.
The site is well maintained and the toilet blocks spotless. The mobile signal was limited using EE and Vodaphone. Not a site for us. Give us a nice quiet CL any day.
Lovely welcoming site
Silverbank Club Campsite
First time at this site and booked to stay 2 nights. Made to feel very welcome on arrival by Mark and Sam. Lovely well maintained site ideally positioned for walks into Banchory along the North Deeside Trail or Crathes Castle in the opposite direction. Bus stop directly outside the gates if you fancy a trip into Aberdeen and Tesco is just a 5 minute walk away. Highly recommended site.
First visit
Silverbank Club Campsite
Had a 2night stay at Silverbank which was our first ever visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is an immaculately kept site, the pitches and surrounding grass areas were very neat and tidy. The toilet block and dishwashing area were spotless.
It is situated a few minutes walk from Banchory and Scott Skinnners pub which serves delicious food is close by.
A few hundred yards takes you the Royal Deeside walk which is an easy path to walk, it is quite flat but there is lots to see along the way. We didn’t realise that Crathes Castle was so easy to get to.
All in all a lovely it is a lovely site in a lovely area. So nice that as soon as we got home we booked another stay!
