Why stay here ...

One of our many caravan and motorhome sites in North Yorkshire, the Knaresborough Club Campsite is set in Lower Nidderdale and serves as a perfect gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and the many attractions of the North of England. The site is surrounded by mature trees and hedges and on fine days it is sunny yet well sheltered. Throughout the year, you can take advantage of the bar, restaurant and take away food on site, and the children can burn off their energy at the site's play area.

The historic market town of Knaresborough is within easy access of Knaresborough Club Campsite and boasts a nostalgic town crier, ancient walkways, atmospheric castle ruins, cobbled alleys and secret passages that lead to picturesque tea rooms, delightful restaurants and quaint traditional pubs.

The central market is home to the weekly Wednesday market which is still famous for its locally prepared lavender water. Summer activities include the annual Bed Race in June and Knaresborough Festival in August. This campsite has it all: boating on the River Nidd, scenic walks, excellent dog walk nearby, tennis and pitch 'n' putt - all in all a family destination likely to prove a winner throughout the season. Don't miss beautiful Ripley Castle, the old Court House Museum, magical Mother Shipton's Cave and Petrifying Well.

Lovely quiet site

Knaresborough Club Campsite
This was our first ever experience in a motorhome and on a club site. The reception staff although busy were friendly and explained to us what we needed to do. Special mention to the Wanderer restaurant staff for a wonderful take-away meal. Lovely clean site, very good experience for our first ever stay on a site.

A Wonderful experience. Thank you.

Knaresborough Club Campsite
After a lovely stay here during the Jubilee half term and seeing some other reviews we felt we must leave one ourselves. The wardens were very cheery, polite, helpful and chatty; could not have asked for more. The site and blocks were kept exceedingly clean and lacked nothing. There we helpful little slips of paper with local directions and tips on to take from the information room. With a young family (11, 7 & 4 year olds) we do have to say that the play park was geared up more for the older children. A really pleasant stay, thank you.

Great for Knaresbrough

Knaresborough Club Campsite
We came here in order to re-visit Knaresbrough after a gap of 48 years. As we have a motorhome, we look for places with bus services and/or good walking routes as we try very hard not to move the motorhome during our stay. This site met these requirements well and we had a lovely day in Knaresborough and a walk back along the Nidd to the site. The site is well maintained as to be expected but somehow seemed to lack 'character' although we couldn't put our finger on any specific shortcoming. It is certainly a good base for North Yorkshire and met our needs. The advertised bar was not available during our stay but this did not trouble us at all.

Lovely Site

Knaresborough Club Campsite
This site is very well maintained and extremely peaceful. We enjoyed our stay, but are amazed by the way in which some club members ignore site/club rules. We saw members on a number of days arriving from as early as 12.09 despite the 1.00pm arrival time.On numerous occasions dog owners allowed dogs to use any grass area as a toilet, despite there being a dog walk on site. One campervan arrived, out came a female with two dogs, who walked straight to the nearest grass area to allow the dogs to use it as a toilet. The main noise on site was caused by outfits speeding over humps.I think the site managers have an unenviable task and do sterling work.
