Why stay here ...

Hawes Club Campsite is set in beautiful Wensleydale, where the famous cheese has been made for nearly a century, and offers delightful views. Redeveloped in 2017 and now with 10 serviced pitches, it's situated between the River Ure and the market town of Hawes and is the northern most of The Club's Yorkshire sites within the boundary of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park.

With the beautiful Dales right on the doorstep of Hawes Club Campsite, walking enthusiasts will have hours of captivating landscape to explore. The Pennine Way is another must - it still carries tracks made in previous centuries, so you can literally feel you are following in your ancestors footsteps. Also within easy reach from the caravan park, Hawes is one of the highest market towns in England at 850 feet above sea level and is blessed with an immense character that really needs to be experienced. You can stock up on supplies at the local shops in town and there are plenty of cosy, traditional pubs that offer food. Set in the beautiful Dales countryside, the Simonstone Hotel offers a delicious afternoon tea.

Great Site within walking distance of Hawes

Hawes Club Campsite
First time to Hawes Site and was very impressed. On arrival warden very friendly and helpful. Having read previous reviews found it strange about people commenting about farm noise given the size of the site and how many pitches are no-where near the farm - so surely if you dont want to listen to noise associated with a working farm then chose a pitch away from farm!! No issues with TV or mobile signal. Toilet and shower facilities very good. This will be one of the largest sites we have stayed on but were impressed with how quiet the site was. Short walk into Hawes which is a lovely little town with plenty cafes and couple of museums to walk round. Loved the site and would definitely return.

Great site in a lovely location

Hawes Club Campsite
We stayed here as part of a Dales tour for walking. Finding the site easy easy and it's well signposted off the main road through the town The welcome was really good with the site manager out on the entrance road checking us all in and helpfully advising us which pitches were free. Once parked up its back up to the office to pay and get the local information. The site is well laid-out, on two arms either side of the access road with the services roughly in the middle. For the dog owners a huge meadow is on the right-hand arm for exercising. Services in the washrooms were modern, plentiful and very clean. The only slightly annoying thing was the keys to get into the washrooms, which I forgot a few times. Not sure why these are needed given the site is on the edge of Hawes. There is a bit of farm noise from next door but it's a working farm and you get used to it quickly! The centre of Hawes is barely 5 minutes away with plenty of cafes and pubs. As its a walking holiday for us we left the van parked up and spent most of our time walking out across several days, the attraction is that you are straight out onto the fells. Hawes is set along a narrow flat valley with fells either side and to the west so the was plenty of good walking. only a mile or so away was Hardraw Falls which is well worth a visit. We did have a main meal out a few times at the some great places the White Hart and the Wensleydale Creamery restaurant were great. Sitting at the van in the late afternoons with a cup of tea and a spot of wine was super as the site was so quiet but full of wildlife, especially the song thrushes. While the site was generally full it did not feel crowded at all. There is so much to see and do on the doorstep of the site. We'll be back.

Best of British

Hawes Club Campsite
This is a lovely site, very close to the attractive town of Hawes. Mostly peaceful but next to a working farm which I love but might not be for everyone! It’s a well kept site with great facilities which are immaculate. The team are very friendly and helpful. We also had an extra added surprise as part of stay this time over the jubilee weekend. The team organised a afternoon tea for all guests which included cakes, tea, coffee and fizz. Well done to the team for making this a special visit which we weren’t expecting. We are looking forward to visiting again soon. Thanks for your hard work.

5 star site!

Hawes Club Campsite
One of our favourite sites, well kept, spotlessly clean facilities, and just a short walk from the lovely dales village of Hawes. We've visited this super site many times before and always enjoyed our stay, this time was made even better as the team had organised a "Right Royal Tea Party" to celebrate the Queen's jubilee. As well as working hard to keep the site and facilities in tip top condition, the team had put a great deal of effort into the party. Tea, coffee and cakes were served as well as champagne to toast the Queen. Human bingo, raffle, something to keep the kids entertained, The Proms singalong, and even a fun event for the dogs. It really made the day extra special and we hope our thanks get passed on to the most friendly site team we have come across. Thank you, we can't wait to return (Lucy is looking forward to it too!)

Excellent site

Hawes Club Campsite
We have stayed here many times before and always love our stay here however this time was a little different as we stayed during the Queens Jubilee and as always we was greeted with a smile at reception we were also offered tickets for a on site Jubilee celebration numbers were limited, now I don’t normally go for this sort of thing as we have teenage kids and wasn’t sure if it was for us but decided to accept the offer just to add these tickets were free and only used to make sure of the numbers they were catering for. I after say i am really glad i did accept the offer as it was great fun everyone was well catered for with coffee and tea plus delicious cakes and some celebratory fizz the staff worked hard to make sure everyone had drinks also worked hard to entertain us, now i am really sorry I didn’t get the lady’s name but i am sure she will know who i mean she was great at entertaining us and made sure everyone joined in with the singing and also human bingo fun was had by all and well done to all the team. This site is one of the best and also has plenty to offer close by good quality pubs serving food or just drinks, excellent walks for all to enjoy regardless of your abilities, and excellent views of the country side we can’t wait for our next stay in a few months.
