Why stay here ...

Bunree Club Campsite in Onich, just 10 miles from Fort William, is a fantastic highland holiday destination and must be one of the loveliest areas on the network in scenic terms - it is, quite literally, breathtaking. Your caravan can be parked almost at the water's edge of Loch Linnhe, with your view overlooking the beauty and the splendour of the mountains across from it. You may even be lucky enough to spot sea otters from your pitch. You'll spend a day or two acclimatising to all this natural beauty at the caravan park before you even want to explore further afield.

When you do fancy an expedition, Bunree Club Campsite is near what should be one of your first ports of call - a visit to magnificent Ben Nevis. You can take a cable car to the upper terminal (2,300ft) of the Aonach Mor Mountain, for fabulous views of the whole mountain range, the Great Glen and the islands of Skye and Rhum. The site also gives you easy access to guided mountain walks if you choose. Another landmark that is not to be missed is Glencoe - you'll find it eerie and exciting being in the location of one of the most the famous massacres in history, still legendary after three centuries. You can also enjoy the journey on the Jacobite steam pulled train from Fort William to Mallaig (advance booking is advised).

Panoramic views, superb site

Bunree Club Campsite
An excellent site right next to the loch. Walks from the campsite through mountainous valleys, lucky enough to see an eagle. Good, clean facilities. Quiet site. We stayed twice in 2 weeks whilst travelling around Scotland.

Heaven on Earth

Bunree Club Campsite
What a wonderful site this is. It has a strange approach down a lane with a traffic light. Past a river and on to the site. The views are spectacular over the loch. Nice walks nearby and little ferry over to the other side. Toilets were clean and showers fine. You have to wait to enter so don't go early. Even while you wait we made a cup of tea overlooking the view although I think it puts pressure on the wardens as they didn't look happy. The site was my favourite in Scotland.

Stunning location - Lots to do!

Bunree Club Campsite
Great site with lovely views of the loch. Front row pitches are rightly reserved for non- awning but lovely views from other pitches too. We had great a great view and could watch ships passing by from the caravan. Facilities usual excellent club standard. Things to do- 1. Catch the train from Fort William to Mallaig. Stunning views over the Glenfinnan viaduct. ( Harry Potter bridge) We caught the ScotRail diesel £20 return with railcard. You could catch the Jacobite steam train for £104 if you prefer the steam train . It’s the same journey and views. Maillaig is small fishing port. 2. Walk towards Inchree across the road from the site. Lovely waterfall about 1 and 1/2 hour return. Great viewpoint over loch. 3. The Corran ferry is a short walk from the site and is free to foot passengers. It drops you right outside a pub. We sailed across 2 evenings, lovely views along the loch. We also went across in the afternoon and did a lovely walk along the shoreline towards the lighthouse. 4. Nice drive around Kinlochleven and Grey Mare waterfall is worth a visit. We found out about some of the above from other people rather than the information room. We didn’t launch our kayak as the water seemed fast gliding but this might not be the case at other times. Fabulous site, we would return.

Bunree Club Campsite
This was our first visit to Bunree, the site is nice. There are some nice walks close by and a little pub over the road.
