Why stay here ...

This established site, set at the confluence of the Tarn and Dourbie rivers, offers a good base for exploring the region and enjoying many outdoor activities. On site, you can play tennis, badminton and volleyball, or cool off and swim in the gentle River Dourbie that flows past the site. The well-appointed pitches are spacious and shaded from the sun by trees. The site also has a new heated waterpark and there is horse riding, canoeing and much more nearby.

A footpath links Les Rivages to Millau, with beautiful surroundings and belfry, part of which dates back to the 12th century. It has an excellent evening market, which takes place on a Monday and offers lots of local delicacies to taste.

Nice site

Les Rivages
Nice site in the trees by the river, with big shady full service pitches. Staff were very friendly and helpful, they also arranged a day canoeing down the Tarn which was the highlight of our holiday. Pool complex was very good, Men's showers were cold but we've got our own.

Would go back in a heartbeat!

Les Rivages
We had a week here in late July early August 2018, in some exceptionally hot weather, with temperatures regularly hitting high 30s. The site was extremely busy, mainly with Dutch families in caravans and tents, they outnumbered the French and Brit visitors by about 4 to 1! If you are looking for total peace and quiet all day, this is not the site for you. However it was quiet every night from 11pm to about 7am, so we felt that was very acceptable for a family orientated site. Despite being so busy, everything kept working well, and the facilities stayed remarkably clean. We never had a queue for a shower, and there seemed to be an inexhaustible supply of hot water! Pitches are quite close together, we had no issues with this as we like to get to know the neighbours. I have seen feedback that suggests you have to wait a long time at reception to be helped. This is probably because the staff there are excellent, and really do take the time to help you properly, instead of rushing through to get rid of you. They helped us book a fabulous day out canoeing on the River Tarn which we thoroughly enjoyed, and felt was good value at about £40 for 2 adults for 6 hours activity. The bar/restaurant is friendly and good value - 18.50 euros for a set 3 course meal. They don't try and overcharge like some sites. Entertainment was, shall we say, adequate. We had music a couple of nights and there was some children's entertainment at other times. We didn't go there for West End standard shows! Millau is a pleasant town with most facilities, and again is fair value for money in restaurants etc. It's an easy 15 minute walk from the site. The area surrounding is beautiful, and there are so many activities you could easily spend a long holiday there and not get bored. From splashing around in the river alongside the site to paragliding, you name it it's there. Our only issue all week was that the pitch we had to start with was a little too much on full sun for our tastes, although this was exceptional weather. There are many with better shade than we had, but the site were very helpful in trying to re-site us. We had to move to a superior pitch, but it only cost 9 euros to upgrade, so we cannot complain about that. Be careful when booking to reserve accordingly - the superior pitches generally tended to have more shade - but not all! I'm sure we will be back!

Does what it says on the tin!

Les Rivages
We did a one night stop here on our way back from Spain. Overall my review is positive and one must be conscious that the site had only just opened for the season. That said it was scruffy and had an unkept feel to it - I felt that they could have made more of an effort in terms of cutting the grass and so on. To its credit, the facilities were certainly on a par with most other 4 star sites in France with good quality washrooms. We ate at the on site restaurant which was equally untidy but the food was good if not a little expensive. The site were very helpful on the telephone with road instructions as we got lost on the way in. The scenery and local area is stunning but beware of the entry and exit route - you can cook your brakes on the way in and boil over on the way out - the road is very steep. Good sized pitches. Would we return? Yes I would to give it the benefit of the doubt and see what it is like mid or late season.

Good site and lovely location

Les Rivages
The site is on the edge of the lovely town of Millau which is situated at the confluence of two rivers and overlooked by a nearby mountain, from the top of which daring paragliders launch themselves and ride the thermals. The pitches are adequately sized, though the trees on their entrances make it quite tricky getting caravans on and off-good job we have a mover fitted. We were near one of the shower and toilet blocks which are clean but I really didn't appreciate the lack of toilet seats! There are pools and there was some form of entertainment though we didn't go ourselves. My biggest gripe was when we were coming in, someone had parked just inside the entrance. Not knowing the site, I thought it was a queue and pulled up behind. I then found that the back of my caravan was blocking the roundabout and several angry motorists sounded their horns. They ought to mark that area "no parking!" A very nice site nevertheless and one I would come back to if in the area again.

Good Site, mostly.

Les Rivages
We have visited this site several times.  Staff are friendly and helpful, and pitches are generous in size, mostly shaded under trees.  There are two concerns relating to early-season visits (May >).  1). Lack of security:  there were night time prowlers round our caravan (and around the caravans of our Dutch neighbours) on two occasions.  There does not appear to be any security measures in place outside of high season, despite comments to the contrary in continental sites book.    2).  Early in the year many of the trees shed large quantities of cotton-wool-like floating seeds which get everywhere and adhere to, and can mark caravan and awning.
