View and BookEnglethwaite Hall Club Campsite is a tranquil oasis scattered with rhododendrons from the garden of the former Old Hall. Located in the Eden Valley of Carlisle, the caravan park is set against a backdrop of the lovely High Stand Forest. Recent reports show that the number of red squirrels in the area has increased, so you may be lucky to see some during your visit. The site now offers a viewing hide from which you can watch red squirrels.
Come for a night, stay for a week. That's what happens to those using the Englethwaite Hall Club Campsite as a stopover during the drive to Scotland on the M6. The area is especially popular for walkers because of its convenient footpath access to uncrowded landscapes and scenic beauty - the Eden Valley riverside walk is a special treat. For added activities such as a swimming pool, cinema, restaurants and pubs, the nearby town of Carlisle won't disappoint. The town can be reached by steam train, along a line which passes through scenic countryside and waterfalls. The Settle to Carlisle Railway runs right past the bottom of the site driveway. In the summer special steam train events pass the site twice a week and visitors can stand right by the track to enjoy the atmosphere and take photographs. Carlisle Castle and the famous Hadrian's Wall are only a short drive away. The site is a perfect choice for those with dogs, with many local dog-friendly pubs. A serene gem surrounded by views of the Lakeland fells and wild flower scattered country lanes, the caravan site offers an excellent escape.
The site is quiet during the school holidays, making it the ideal choice for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing holiday.
Service pitches are available.
Please note: This site does not have a toilet block.
