Why stay here ...

Based on member feedback, work was completed in 2021 at River Breamish Club Campsite meaning the campsite now has 16 brand new Serviced Pitches and improvements made to a further 12 pitches, enabling better access to more pitches all year round.

River Breamish Club Campsite in Alnwick is set amid the Cheviot Hills, with excellent walking and cycling in the scenically beautiful surroundings to keep the active holiday maker happy. Walk from the caravan site into the delightful Breamish Valley where many remains from the Neolithic and Bronze Age, including hill forts and medieval villages can be seen. It is an easy walk into the quaint little village of Powburn.

The National Park Centre at Ingram is a short journey away from the River Breamish Club Campsite, which is open daily from Easter to September. Staff there will be more than happy to help you plan your stay, making sure you get the most out of this historic area. Ingram boasts a number of fine hillside walks - take a picnic along with you and enjoy the rolling green hills and countryside spread out before you. If you enjoy bird watching and nature, then be sure to visit the Branton Nature Reserve which has a bird hide and lake nearby and Farne Islands, off the Northumberland coast. Fly fishing is available at Chatton and Thrunton Long Crag, and course fishing can be enjoyed at Felton Fence Farm.

The stunning surrounding scenery and beaches can be enjoyed from many of our Northumberland campsites, including the long sandy beaches and castle at Bamburgh, are on the doorstep. The location for the Harry Potter films, Alnwick Castle, is a must-see attraction. For a really unique experience, book a reservation to have dinner in the Castle's treetop restaurant. This caravan park is sure to offer something special for everyone in the family.

Fantastic Site

River Breamish Club Campsite
We have stayed here many times and it was our second visit this year. The site is excellent, great for a quiet break with plenty of cycling and walking. The site is well kept and very clean, cannot fault the work done on site. Two issues that we encountered could have spoilt the trip had we let them. Firstly, we arrived at 12.55, fourth in a short queue, after initial welcome we were told that should we arrive early next time we would be turned away, club rules. Not sure where you would go as there is nothing suitable close by where you can stop. We were able to observe arrivals each day and as normal people arrive early to get the pick of the best spots. This happens at most club sites I have stayed on. I cannot understand why the club will not allow specific pitches to be booked in advance, technology is there for this to be in place. Sites belonging to Tranquil Parks, use this and have no problems with it. Second issue was the motorhome next to us had an awning up and most evenings the two gentlemen watched their large screen television very loudly and well after 10.00pm. Do wardens check for noise after 10.00, there is supposed to be a quiet time after 10.00pm. These were two minor points but so easily be avoided.

Such good Assistant Managers

River Breamish Club Campsite
Really helpful staff in general but a special mention to Ian the Assistant Manager who was so helpful. Came and gave our dog a biscuit when passing our pitch. The site has good dog walking from site and not too far from coast and wonderful beaches. Not any pubs close by who serve food but Black Bull and Tankerville Arms in Wooler good and doggy friendly. …..8 miles. Busy with children during holiday times……shame parents bring them with motorised scooters and let them loose without control around site roads disturbing other members. Site well kept.

Truly Outstanding Site

River Breamish Club Campsite
Wow what a fabulous site - we moved here after booking a non club site in Wooler which awful - sadly we could only get 2 nights here - but we had the best 2 nights - we where welcomed so nicely by Ian who is a real credit to the club - he was so helpful and informative as we waited to check in. Check in was seamless and we found our pitch and set up - Ian came over to see is everything was working fine and told us and our 7 year old granddaughter about an Adder which he would show us if we wanted to see it - it was raining hard at the time and he said he would come back when the rain abated and he did - wow what a great site - thank you Ian. The Breamish Valley is stunning and if you have bikes would highly recommend riding up to Ingram and the cafe then on up into the valley - it is breathtaking and truly beautiful. You are surrounded by a lovely nature reserve and lots of walking routes. There is a small but well stocked Londis shop on the Main road(A697) a short distance from the site - you could easily walk to it in 10 minutes and you will be able to get lots of provisions here and well as fuel. The whole team where friendly and helpful and clearly take great pride in the site - they where constantly on the go tending to all areas of the site. Shower/ toilet facilities are kept immaculately clean We feel truly grateful to have found this site and very lucky we had 2 fabulous nights here - we will definitely return and would like to thank Ian so much for making us so welcome - Olivia loved seeing you around the site and chattering to you.

Great people and lovely site

River Breamish Club Campsite
Stayed for 6 nights and didnt want to come home. Site doesn’t have a great deal around it, which makes it nice and quiet, but you do need to be prepared to get out and about in the car. Very cheery chappie at site, always with a smile and always out and about tending the site. When we came to leave we had a problem hooking up the electrics and he was happy to help (although neighbour finally sorted it! - thank you nice people!) Really clean and tidy site, no complaints at all. Lovely part of the world, definitely worth a visit.

Exceptional Service

River Breamish Club Campsite
A beautifully clean and well organised site but our praise will focus on the fantastic service we received from the wardens when we had a couple of worrying problems initially with our MH but then unfortunately, with our dog. Ian, the warden helped us to resolve our technical issue but then later and more worryingly our dog became very unwell and he quickly provided us with the information we needed to get her treated on an emergency basis by a local vet and she is now fully recovered.. He was so attentive and supportive during what was for us was a very stressful time, we were extremely grateful for his help and we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this site and we will certainly return. Thanks again.
