Why stay here ...

Gently sloping to face a glorious, unspoilt view over the Nairn Valley, Culloden Moor Club Campsite has the asset of being sheltered on one side by an abundant belt of mature trees to afford extra privacy and wind protection. The caravan site is only about 1.5 miles from the famous Culloden Battlefield, where Bonnie Prince Charlie was defeated and Scottish history was rewritten.

Culloden Moor Club Campsite is also just six miles from the pretty city of Inverness - not only does it have more than enough choice for shopping treats and places to eat or drink, it is also centrally situated for touring some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. Beautiful must-see locations include Loch Ness, Black Isle, Moray Coast and the Whisky Trails in the Spey Valley. The caravan park also puts you within easy reach of Glen Affric for unforgettably scenic walks - you'll see its magnificent landscapes best on foot and maybe even spot some deer. With forest walks, this site is ideally located for dog owners.

Fabulous site

Culloden Moor Club Campsite
Just stayed 4 nights here-the reception from Sarah and Joe was friendly and efficient..What a lovely couple. The site was well laid out, well maintained and tidy.. Even though it was Jublilee weekend we were able to travel by bus from just outside the site - No 2 - into the city. The people are so friendly and the bus driver even volunteered to drop us back to the site entrance on our return journey..Inverness is a pretty place with the lovely walks along the river, and a plethora of eating venues..the castle is shut at the moment -june2022-for renovation work. Plenty of places to visit nearby. We went to Fort Augustus and found a fantastic restaurant The Boathouse..worth a visit..View overlooking Loch Ness from the dining area and the Salmon fillet was mouth watering....10/10.

Site could be better

Culloden Moor Club Campsite
Spent a few days at Culloden Moor in May whilst touring Scotland, entrance could be signed better, had to queue to get in, was aware sit wasn’t level but some effort had been made to level some pitches whereas others could have been made level easily but had been left with various degree and directions of slope. Grass area for tents was on a slope. Facilities were ok and clean. Few nice walks around site and Culloden Moor battle field not far from site.

Great site & location

Culloden Moor Club Campsite
Great site overall, very peaceful and remote so perfect for the start and end of our NC500 trip. Most hardstading pitches aren’t level and some really aren’t acceptable, especially down towards the tent pitch & childrens play area. We travel in a small VW campervan so don’t have the luxury of being able to carry levelling ramps. We saw motorhomes with ramps that still weren’t level, so be aware of this when booking. I’m not sure why some of the roads on site are now permanently fenced off, forcing you to drive around the entire of the site when trying to access or leave your pitch. It seems really odd and just adds to unnecessary traffic around the site when the existing layout appeared to work well. Similarly, to the new fences are in weird positions and unless you walk in the opposite direction to the toilets / showers and dishwashing areas, to then walk back on yourself through a gap, you need to cut across a grass area which makes no sense when the original path has been fenced off. I’m sure there’s a reason for the added fences and layout but it made no sense to us and was quite frustrating when carrying the washing up!

Why no WiFi?

Culloden Moor Club Campsite
This is a very well run, peaceful site set in beautiful countryside only six miles from the capital of the Highlands, Inverness. The wardens are very friendly and maintain the site to a very high standard. Although many pitches are sloping caravaners and motorhomers all seemed to cope easily using ramps. On arrival the warden was very welcoming and placed great emphasis on the 5mph speed limit around the site which we found very encouraging. Despite this we noted many instances of the limit being flagrantly ignored. What more can the Club do to stop these idiots? The complete absence of WiFi is, I feel, a distinct disadvantage and needs to be rectified. Although my smartphone gave good 4G internet access it is disappointing that I was unable to utilise my annual subscription to the Club’s WiFi. That said this is however an excellent site and we would be happy to return despite the absence of WiFi .

A really good experience

Culloden Moor Club Campsite
This is a very pleasant site with helpful staff and a very high standard of cleanliness. Some of the pitches are just a bit too sloping for motorhomes, but it’s a lovely spot and ideal for setting of to or returning from the NC500. Would highly recommend it and would have no hesitation in returning.
