Great site. A regular of ours.

Ferry Meadows Club Campsite
Really like this site. It’s situated right on the Nene Valley Park for some great walks. On the other side is the Nene Steam Railway. Which is great too. Just up the road is a beefeater and a garden centre. I use this site regularly as it’s a 40 min drive from home. Pitches are well maintained and flat. The only down side is the shower block. It really does need an update. Ceiling is yellow in parts, ceiling panels are coming away. Mould in the corners. I will still use them, just could do with a Refurb! Needed a late checkout as I was running at an event on day of departure. The wardens had no issue allowing me to stay for a few extra hours. If it was busy I’m not so sure I would of been allowed.

Well run site with great amenities

Ferry Meadows Club Campsite
We turned up at 1.30 and were welcomed at the gate and then ushered through efficiently. We had the choice of a variety of sites - some hard standing and some grass, some open and some sheltered. We were on the West side and I believe the East side is mainly grassy areas. The pitch was large, well spaced out and level. The park was busy but didn't feel crowded. The toilets and showers were spotless and there were plenty of them. It was a pleasant experience and we would return. If you run or cycle there are paths galore straight out of the site.

Don't arrive early, or incur the wrath!

Ferry Meadows Club Campsite
We arrived at 12:20. I'd checked the app the night before, and it told me I could arrive from 12:00. On arrival at the barrier, I was met by one of the female wardens who proceeded to tell me off (yes, tell me off!) about arriving early, and telling me we shouldn't have got there till 1:00. She told us to leave immediately, and come back after 1:00! She wouldn't accept my explanation about the app. Whatever the reason for arrival times being wrong between the app and the website, the way she dealt with me, the paying customer, was nothing short of rude, and unacceptable. She made us feel unwelcome, and she somehow made us out to be the ones in the wrong. All in all, she got our visit off to a stressful start, as we proceeded to find somewhere to go with our caravan until we were "allowed" back. It is worth pointing out that the 2, large arrival lanes at this point were totally empty. We asked if we could at least park up there. She refused us that. She offered little help in advising us where to go and kill 35-40 minutes. I had to push her for directions to a suitable parking-up point. I'm extremely disappointed at the poor and unacceptable level of customer service on arrival at this site. This is a good site, and we're staying there again soon. But based on this visit, and therefore this review, I can only score it a 1 overall, because of the terrible start our visit got off to on this occasion.

Excellent location

Ferry Meadows Club Campsite
We stayed just for one night because we had tickets for an event at the nearby East of England Arena. We've been to events at that Arena dozens of times but never explored the area. The site is excellent, big level pitches, spotless modern facilities, a warm welcome and right next door, a massive country park with huge lakes. Brilliant for cycling, dog walking, bird watching, etc. Completely quiet and peaceful, but loads of shops, restaurants etc a short drive away. It's great. Perhaps not the most obviously picturesque part of the country but a pleasant surprise.
