Why stay here ...

Longleat Club Campsite in Warminster is one of the network's most unique locations - where else in the UK or Europe can you hear lions roaring at night from the comfort of your bed? Set in beautiful parkland, the caravan park is located in the midst of the lovely Longleat Estate. The area's famous Safari Park, first to be opened outside Africa, is literally on the doorstep of the Longleat Club Campsite. As long as you have a pre-paid ticket for the date of entry, it's just a 5 minute walk directly from the site to Longleat House and Longleat Safari Park if you prefer not to take your vehicle.

Please note that Longleat are not able to accept dogs within the grounds or attractions. There are other beautiful walks also available from the Club side of the road that members can enjoy freely and at their own leisure.

There are several pubs within a 2 mile radius (a lovely walk on a summers evening) and a short drive will bring you to the lively towns of Bath and Bristol. The Roman, Regency and 20th century Bath being a special favourite for visitors touring in Wiltshire. Still famous as a spa, you can take to the waters and literally soak yourself in history. With winding streets and pretty listed buildings, Frome is about 15 minutes from the site. Several fascinating nearby sites of historic interest include Stonehenge, Avebury Neolithic monument and Lacock Abbey.

Directions

Follow sat nav to The White Hart pub (postcode BA12 7PH) then follow the brown tourist signs to the site. Alternatively, turn left off the A36 Warminster bypass (Salisbury - Frome) at the roundabout onto the A362 (signposted Frome). In about 0.5 mile at the roundabout take the A362 (third exit) to Frome. After 2.25 miles turn into Lane End next to the White Hart pub. Continue past the Safari Park Entrance and Stalls Farm before turning left again. The site entrance is 200 metres on left. This is the only permitted entry route for caravans and motorhomes. Please note that estate routes may change in the case of a special event. Note: When using sat nav for directions to the site, please use the postcode BA12 7PH ( pub at Lane End on the A362), and follow the brown direction signs to site. If coming from the Warminster direction on the A362 please do not attempt to take the first left after the Royal Oak pub as this lane is far too narrow.

Lovely Site, MOST of the staff very helpful!

Longleat Club Campsite
Most of the staff were more than helpful except one lady who I'd like to say welcomed us but it was far from welcoming!! she quite frankly rude and very unwelcoming.... Not what we are used to from The Caravan & Motorhome sites... Beautiful site though, Lovely to hear the Sea-lions & Lions. Absolutely rubbish WiFi reception, don't purchase their WiFi as that doesn't work either,...

Excellent site

Longleat Club Campsite
My wife and I stayed 5 nights in May 2022. Our arrival was very delayed due to our car breaking down, so we phoned ahead and were directed to pitch in the late-night arrival bay just outside the site which had electric hook-up. We were also given clear directions to the main entrance. Staff were very kind and helpful and reserved a pitch reasonably close to the entrance in order for us to move our caravan on the motor-movers. We had to make a number of telephone calls and the staff kindly offered the use of the office landline as on-site mobile signal was intermittent. All-in-all the staff showed great kindness to us, and together with a lovely site, with very good and clean facilities and well-kept grounds, made up for the very difficult start to our break. We have marked out Longleat CC site as one we would be very happy to re-visit.

A very friendly and quiet site

Longleat Club Campsite
We enjoyed a short 3 night break here in Mid May 2022. Site was easy to find and access. Arrival process seamless and friendly. We were lucky to find the site very quiet (not at all full) and therefore had the pick of pitches. Overall there were great facilities. All clean and tidy. Particularly liked the kids play area (room) with table tennis and other games. The site was nicely secluded and quiet with easy access. Our daughter loved the playground and was absolutely delighted to find the little crochet gift of kindness that had been hidden on the site! Additionally the wardens gave us a little duck food to feed the very friendly ducks that frequented our pitch. All in all a great stay. Thank you

GREAT MID-WEEK BREAK

Longleat Club Campsite
Our mid-week break at the end of April was marked by some exceptionally pleasant weather and a site that I would guess was only about 25% occupied. Therefore, we enjoyed plenty of space and near-deserted facilities. We followed the Club's directions to the site and had no trouble finding it but the final run-in is down a fairly narrow country lane which could prove challenging if you meet something reasonably sizeable coming the other way. Hence, we were very pleased to note that the 1:00pm arrival time was rigorously enforced, although you always get some numpty who wants to park at the barrier from 12:00. Facilities in general were of the high standard we all enjoy and have come to expect. The Information Room was exceptional with lots of suggestions of local walks and of places to visit (with 'rip-off' copies you could take with you), guidance on places to park motorhomes in towns, etc - thanks wardens, really excellent. At the other end of the scale, the Games Room was in poor shape, allegedly due to vandalism by site visitors. I hope this does not lead to loss of this facility as there are solutions (eg sizeable deposits for loan of equipment, etc) and there may be a need for some monitoring (there is CCTV) which works on other sites (Castletown, Hawes, etc) - don't let the vandals win.

Difficult to find

Longleat Club Campsite
By the time we reached the site we were a little bit fed up. A rather stressful journey was ended by numerous barriers across lanes meaning we were unsure of how to get into the site. Since speaking to the staff apparently it is very easy as long as you come of at the right junction! The site itself is very large with decent sized pitches. The facilities are looking a bit tired but were really clean. The staff themselves were really friendly and worked very hard to keep the big site looking nice with only 4 staff.
