Why stay here ...

Hunter's Moon Club Campsite lies just on the edge of the lovely Wareham Forest. This pleasant caravan park, with play area and dog walk, provides an excellent base for touring the lovely area of Dorset. Many of the area's most attractive locations are safeguarded by the National Trust, including substantial stretches of unforgettable scenic coastline. It is rich in combes, cliffs, bays and islands - particularly rewarding for the visitor interested in bird life and walking. The nearby Golden Cap, of which the National Trust owns, 2,000 acres of hills, farmlands and beaches, has the highest cliff in England and delights with its covering of brilliant yellow gorse.

This is Thomas Hardy country and visitors to Hunter's Moon Club Campsite will recognise many of the scenes described in his novels. His birthplace, a charming thatched cottage with its garden magnificently ablaze with colour is situated at Higher Bockhampton, within easy reach from the caravan park. Also of great interest in the area and only a short 10 mile journey away is the house at Cloud's Hill, popular because it once belonged to the famous Lawrence of Arabia. At certain times during the month, the delightful market town of Wareham holds a small but well-stocked farmers market. The area offers good transport links with a railway station at Wareham, which also offers car parking and onward bus travel to the coastal towns of Poole, Swanage and Weymouth. Not to be missed are the National Trust’s Brownsea Island and Corfe Castle.

Lovely Jubilee weekend

Hunter's Moon Club Campsite
The site is immaculate and obviously loved by the wardens who are all hard working and friendly I can’t fault this site at all. The wardens are putting in such an effort to make everyone’s stay enjoyable. As it was jubilee there were things going on including a raffle for charity and a quiz set up around the park. The site is well kept clean and well laid out with everything easy to find the information hut is excellent, We pitched on the grass pitches which were quite spacious and quiet. This site is in a great location for visiting Wareham, Corfe Castle and the Dorset coast. During our stay we even went on a walk around Wareham forest where we spotted several deer as well as heard the cuckoo calling The dog walking area on site is great and the off lead area is also good for them to run after a ball. I do not stay on club sites often as I prefer CL’s but I have no concern about returning back here again sometime soon

Fantastic Jubilee Weekend

Hunter's Moon Club Campsite
We had a wonderful long weekend, the staff are really friendly and work tirelessly to keep everything clean and up together, this is one of the cleanest sites we have been lucky enough to stay on, lots too see and do and some lovely walks nearby, one piece of advice the ground is quite hard so you will need some sturdy awning pegs, we had rock pegs and bent each one

Most Enjoyable

Hunter's Moon Club Campsite
We recently had nine nights at Hunters Moon and it’s the best the site has looked in a long while, the wardens were very hard working very welcoming and warm and friendly, makes a big difference they worked such long hours The facilities were very clean and well kept We found the railway station and bus stop just a five minute drive away most useful with buses to Poole and Swanage, we also caught the train to Weymouth there is so much to do and see in this part of the country we highly recommend it

Superb!

Hunter's Moon Club Campsite
A great first time caravanning experience with the family. The team were very welcoming and the site was immaculate. The kids loved the play area and the meadow walk. We even went on a 3 mile walk from the site around Wareham forest where we spotted a number of Round Leaved Sundews and Common Darter Dragon flies. The walk included the local pub (which is now family and dog friendly) on the route where we sampled the local Ales before heading back to relax in our awning. We loved it so much we returned the following weekend and were not disappointed.
