Why stay here ...

Following ongoing discussions between the London Borough of Bromley Council and the Club, we are pleased to announce that we have been granted an extended lease which will enable us to keep the site open for bookings up to and including Sunday 18th September 2022 and bookings can be made now.

We know London is a very popular destination and are pleased to enable our members more time to enjoy one of our most popular and historic sites within the Club network!

The Crystal Palace Club Campsite is ideally placed for visitors who are keen to visit London and all its attractions. The number 3 bus near the caravan park departs regularly and goes into London via Brixton, Lambeth Bridge, Trafalgar Square and terminates at Whitehall. The bus operates all through the night so late night theatre goers need not worry about returning to site.

As well as London itself, the campsite is ideally situated for annual events such as the Ideal Home Exhibition, the London to Brighton mini run, the London Marathon, the Chelsea Flower show, Wimbledon and of course Christmas and New Year events. Whether you’re camping, touring in a motorhome or towing a caravan, our London campsites are open to all tourers making it a great location from which to explore.

If you need a break from the capital, Crystal Palace is a delightful community in its own right with plenty of pubs, shops and restaurants all within walking distance. The huge park next door still displays the ruins of the iconic Crystal Palace which unfortunately burnt down in 1936. The local museum open at weekends is well worth a visit to see pictures of the Palace as it was. Also within the park are Paxton's dinosaurs surrounding a lovely boating lake, playgrounds, cafe plus a national sports centre complete with a public swimming pool, play area and maze, and it is an ideal venue for cycling and walking. It is possible to cycle into London using route 23 of the National Cycle Network which starts in Dulwich, home to the Picture Gallery.

Please note: this Club campsite is situated within the London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) which means you may need to pay a fee based on your vehicle's emissions, age and weight. The best way to find out is to use the Transport for London Low Emission Zone Checker. To avoid any late payment penalties, it's best to set up an Auto Pay account before you travel and then the appropriate payment is taken automatically when you drive into the zone.

Nice site but hardstanding pitches NOT suitable to put an awning up on !

Crystal Palace Club Campsite
Had a pleasant stay . Quiet site. The only problem we had was we were on a hardstanding pitch and it was impossible to erect an awning. You cannot drive the tent pegs in at all !

Easy to explore area

Crystal Palace Club Campsite
We had a lovely week at Crystal Palace, it is so easy to get into London. The number 3 bus stop is a few minutes from the site entrance, this takes you to Whitehall/Horse Guards, once there it is easy to visit any part of London. Also if you are lucky you can travel on London buses for free by using your bus pass. To use the tube get off the bus at Brixton. We didn't spend much time on the site itself so can't comment on much about the site. From the site you can walk through Crystal Palace park and walk into Crystal Palace town. We didn't move our car from when we arrived to when we left, apart from a quick visit to the petrol station to fill up with fuel. The only thing we feel should be addressed is that we were told the site entrance was in the Low Congestion area,, we registered with the Low Emissions zone but at no point did we receive any charges, which was most welcome All in all a lovely visit, one that we shall certainly do again

Easter break

Crystal Palace Club Campsite
Just home from a fantastic week at Crystal palace club site. Brilliant site with good facilities on either hard standing or grass. Site is well maintained and the site wardens are very pleasant and helpful. £3.30 return busfare into London well worth it all though each passenger has to have their own card to pay with.. nice to see the site managers potting plants ready for the hanging baskets. Looking forward to seeing them blooming in the summer.

Great location, we'll be back if it's still open!

Crystal Palace Club Campsite
With friends and family living only 3 miles away this has been a great place for us to stay while visiting them on a number of occasions in the last couple of years. Transport links are great and there are lots of opportunities for cycling - loads of cycle paths. The site itself is on a number of terraces, surrounded by trees which makes up for the lack of grass. Birdsong is actually louder than any traffic noise - what a delight in central London! The facilities aren't the most modern but absolutely fine and as clean as on any other site - clearly there's no point in the Club spending to upgrade anything while the lease is under threat. What a shame it will be to lose this site, with no others so close to the centre of London. Site staff have always been friendly and helpful. All in all a great find and one we'll use again for as long as we can.

Good site, great location and friendly staff

Crystal Palace Club Campsite
We have just returned home after an enjoyable 5 nights on this site. Excellent location for central London and surrounding areas, with very good bus service. The Wardens were very helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. Clean and well kept site. We would definitely book again and hope it will be open for the foreseeable future.
