Why stay here ...
New England Bay is a coastal Club Campsite on the shore of Luce Bay. It is carefully landscaped into seven pitching areas, each with a different character and lovely sea views. The Caravan and Motorhome Club Site has direct access to a clean and sandy beach which is ideal for swimming, sailing, water sports and sea angling. The peaceful and picturesque location also provides an ideal base for exploring the machars and Rhins of Galloway, one of the unspoilt corners of Scotland.
The area surrounding New England Bay Club Campsite has a wealth of wild flowers and bird life, the Galloway Coastal Path follows the site boundary on the beach side and the quiet lanes are ideal for cycling and running. Terally Riding Centre, 2 miles away, offers pony trekking. The nearby RSPB Visitor Centre and Mull of Galloway Lighthouse will provide a range of entertainment and education for you and your family. The nearby town of Stranraer has golf courses, green bowling, a swimming pool, sports centre, theatre and cinema. There are a number of local gardens to visit including Port Logan Botanic Gardens, Ardwell Gardens and Logan House Gardens, while Castle Kennedy Gardens and Glenwhan Gardens are a pleasant drive from the site. That Marine Fish Pond is a Victorian curiosity. Port Patrick, only a 20 minute drive away, is a pretty harbour with a Lifeboat Station, shops and good places to eat. The Titanic experience in Belfast is a possible excursion from Cairnryan Port.

From North on A77: approaching Stranraer follow signposts for the A77, Portpatrick. About 1.5 miles past Stranraer continue on the A716 (signposted Drummore). The Site is on the left in 10.75 miles (2.5 miles past Ardwell). From East on A75: about 2 miles past Glenluce fork left onto A715/B7084 (signposted Drummore). In about 6 miles continue onto A716 (signposted Drummore). The Site is on the left in about 6 miles (about 1 mile past the B7065 junction).

Quiet Site with Great Beach
New England Bay Club Campsite
The site is in a great location with a nice beach - a mix of pebbles and sand. Despite the site being busy, the beach was very quiet. For the two days we were there, there were only ever a handful of people on the beach when we visited.
As newbies, we opted for a pitch with proximity to the sea and definitely felt quite buffeted at points. You have to balance being closest to the sea with being more exposed to the elements.
Although we didn't use the toilets or showers, the facilities seemed good and there was a regular cleaning schedule.
There's a small park and a games room for children but we didn't see many children or teens on-site when we were there. It skewed to older clientele and lots of dogs.
Staff were friendly and efficient.
It is quite remote so it's probably best to stock up before you go. The site does have a shop but it's small and expensive. However, you should definitely try their amazing Yorkshire chocolate loaf!
Very peaceful
New England Bay Club Campsite
Stayed here many times now, always very peaceful spotlessly clean and staff are very efficient , friendly and hard working. Great for kids and dogs. A bit exposed at times as you would expect with a costal location no shops pubs within walking distance so make sure you stock up before you go . Would highly recommend a visit.
Wonderful location if you want peace
New England Bay Club Campsite
This is a delightful site for peace and quiet, for walking and cycling - when the weather is kind. We had mostly "Scotland at its best weather" and cycled to Drunmore, for a friendly, simple pub lunch, which although along a main road was less busy and safer than a country lane in the south east of England.
An excellent Site but ……
New England Bay Club Campsite
We recently spent ten days at this excellent Site. The staff are friendly, welcoming and efficient. The facilities, which are perhaps looking a little tired - but perfectly adequate, are maintained very well and in our experience are kept very clean and tidy.
There is a relaxed atmosphere and wonderful sea views and walks along the coast directly from the Site.
I would suggest there is not a lot of interest for those with young families : the beach is generally not sandy and places to visit require a vehicle to reach.
But ….. and I say this as a dog owner, many people staying did not keep their dogs on leads when being exercised or tethered next to the pitch when sitting outside. As a result we and others were pestered by wandering canines when walking our dog or sitting outside or in even in our awning. As I have said this is a friendly, relaxed Site with good staff but perhaps their style of management is a little too hands off.
However, we will certainly return to New England Bay.

Wonderful Location and Site
New England Bay Club Campsite
The location of this site is wonderful, overlooking the bay. The staff were polite and helpful and gave good information about things in the area. The site was clean and tidy but was not very busy when we were there. The facilities block was spotless and the laundry was easy to use once tokens were obtained from the office. The Washing Up area again was spotless and was also partly enclosed. On request we had an electric hook up pitch behind a lot of Gorse bushes which was ideal as it turned extremely windy so we were a little protected. There is not much in the area but it is worth visiting the Mull of Galloway which has a lighthouse and RSPB Reserve, the drive to it has wonderful views. Logan Botanic Garden is not to be missed, Pheasants roam free and Red Squirrels dart about, the Formal Pond has seating and the whole Garden is tranquil and is disabled friendly. The Potting Shed Tea Room is a great place to have lunch or just a cup of tea, they do wonderful scones either plain, fruit or cheese. There is a general store at Drummore which also has a Post Office. The beach at the site is pebbly but Oystercatchers and Ringed Plovers roam freely. All in all a great place to just unwind and relax.
