Why stay here ...

Melrose Gibson Park Club Campsite is nestled on the edge of Melrose in a peaceful setting that is overlooked by the beautiful Eilden Hills, once named Trimontium by the Romans. A short walk from the caravan park are the charming shops, lovely restaurants and pubs and historic buildings of Melrose, including the famous ruins of Melrose Abbey, the resting place of Robert the Bruce's heart.

Walking enthusiasts will be delighted when visiting Melrose Gibson Park Club Campsite - there are 1,500 miles of footpaths to explore along the banks of the Tweed or by hiking up into the High Country to view the Borders' picturesque, rural patchwork. The caravan site also gives you easy access to excellent cycle routes as well as fishing in the River Tweed. Nearby Gibson Park has 60 pitches for golfing enthusiasts and if you are a fan of rugby, the second Saturday in April hosts the annual Melrose Sevens Rugby Tournament. Another event not to be missed is the colourful Melrose Festival, held in mid June each year. There is plenty to see and do in the local area and the site is also well placed for exploring the Scottish Borders.

Visitors to Melrose Gibson Park can now take advantage of the new railway line that connects the Scottish Borders to Edinburgh. The site is around 1.5 miles (30 minutes' walk) from Tweedbank Station, and the train can get you into the heart of Edinburgh in just 55 minutes, avoiding the traffic and park and ride.

Another great visit.

Melrose Gibson Park Club Campsite
Our first visit in three years due to the pandemic but the site is still one of the best in our experience with excellent wardens, a very tidy site, clean facilities and so close to the town itself. While the site hasn’t changed Melrose has, there are new cafes and takeaways, and best of all an ebike hire shop. Plenty of local cycle trails and routes which are in a number of leaflets for the local towns and villages in the information room. Speed limits in towns and villages are now all at 20mph. The only slight negative outside the site is that the local Abbeys are now restricted to the ground around them due to ongoing safety checks which look to be on for some time. Recommend Rhymers Fayre for small meals snacks and Marmions for dinner. Can't wait to go back.

Lovely small site right in a lovely town

Melrose Gibson Park Club Campsite
Lovely smallest site so far right in town but with views of hills all around. Great pitches and facilities. Right in the town, but peaceful. Melrose is a nice town, with good shopping at Co-op and local indie shops right near site, plus good pubs and cafés. King's Arms was very nice for a meal. Tweed pretty close for lovely walks, banks covered in Few Flowered Garlic, used in local pesto which we had.

Disappointing asphalt pitches

Melrose Gibson Park Club Campsite
Very friendly welcome and the site is ideally located, a short walk into Melrose and a Coop next door. The facilities were fine. Unfortunately we were pitched on what felt like a pub car park....4 hard asphalt pitches in the corner, which seemed like an afterthought or overflow area. I do not think it's right to charge the same price for these pitches as for the normal.ones. We have stayed on lots of Club sites and have never seen an area like this before. Not at all a pleasant environment for sitting outside.

First Rate Site.

Melrose Gibson Park Club Campsite
This is, a first rate, friendly site. Well kept, with extremely clean facilities. It's situation, over the road from Melrose rugby ground and within 50 mtrs. of the town, make it an ideal stop. We initially ,booked for three nights and stayed for five. Although situated next to the town and with houses and recreation fields adjacent, it was quiet and peaceful. Staff were, friendly and very approachable, Melrose, is a walker friendly town and dogs, are welcome in all pubs and bars. We have booked again for later this year. Great place
