Why stay here ...

Set on a cliff top, the views from Trewethett Farm Club Campsite in Tintagel are nothing less than breathtaking. Overlooking the lovely Bossiney Cove with its sandy beach (a difficult descent, not suitable for children under 5 or the unsteady. Tidal waters preclude access to beach at high tide), you can explore the beautiful sea landscapes via the South West Coastal path that runs past the caravan park.

The Trewethett Farm Club Campsite also gives you easy footpath access to the popular town of Tintagel and the medieval harbour of Boscastle along the spectacular coastal footpaths. Polzeath beach is within 10 miles of the site and with a stretch of wide, flat golden sand is a good option for families. Tintagel is a popular coastal resort with enough shops, bars and restaurants to keep everyone in the family happy, but it is still best known for its dramatic castle, reputedly the birthplace of none other than King Arthur. The area offers a range of ancient countryside villages where you can taste the traditional flavours of ale and hearty Cornish food. For those who want a family getaway in magnificent coastal settings, this caravan site will not disappoint.

Fabulous sunsets…

Trewethett Farm Club Campsite
Just enjoyed a few days on this beautifully located site. The location, layout & helpfulness of the staff can’t be faulted…there’s a but…at almost £40 per night, I didn’t expect to be presented with below average portacabin facilities. I had a word with myself & tried to use them, but failed as they took me back to rotten campsite facilities in the 80’s. The main toilet & shower block was dated & the cleanliness average: they desperately need an update so I suppose it’s limited what can be achieved. The most ‘fun’ though was the check in process…opens at 1pm with a massive queue of units in a single track lane, with a procedure that wouldn’t have been out of place on Challenge Annika Give your name, pay your balance, then off to hunt around the site for a pitch you fancy with a piece of plastic pipe to ‘reserve’ then back to give the number to the office & collect your prize of your gate key…now I’m a fairly fit half marathon runner, but even for me it was a hike up to the top of the site…& when I asked if we could hold a place for our friends who were about 10 units behind us & didn’t want to jump or hold the queue up by leaving the vehicle, I was told ‘there’s no reserving of pitches’ but they’re just behind us…still no & subsequently we spent a few days carrying food backwards & forwards between pitches as we ended up not being next to each other. Not a biggie, but a shame non the less. So, in summary, we had a great stay but think some facilities & procedures could use a bit if an update.

A lovely site with some buts!

Trewethett Farm Club Campsite
The site is in an excellent location with beautiful scenery and walks (which are a little strenuous as they are along the coast path). Most pitches have a view of the sea, especially on the grass in the top field. The location presumably explains the high prices. It isn’t really good enough to supplement dated facilities (the shower leaked more water than in provided) by portacabins when these aren’t easily accessible by those with mobility issues, especially at the prices charged. The wardens were excellent as was the little shop. What did let it down I am sorry to say were our fellow visitors. Speeding cars (do you really need to speed up the field for 200 metres to catch the end of the sunset or to drive round in your car just to have a look?), and taking your dog onto the tent pitches just for it to defecate is really not acceptable. The wardens also deserve the patience of the year award for not reacting to dogs being allowed to bark aggressively at them! An outstanding site with the usual outstanding wardens but in need of a little investment

Club Wardens went WAY beyond what was expected of them…….

Trewethett Farm Club Campsite
The day following my previous review I became very unwell and my wife sought help and advice from the site Wardens. After learning of my problems Mandy (previously medically qualified) advised my wife to call the emergency services which she did. Both Mandy and colleague warden Elaine (also previously medically qualified) attended us in our caravan and monitored my well-being until the paramedics arrived which was over three hours later. Their commitment to us both was very much appreciated by us which we considered went way beyond their ‘call of duty’. The Paramedics decided I was taken to Truro Hospital where I remained under close observation all day and was finally discharged at mid-night for return to our caravan. We couldn’t have wished for better support and empathy than we received from both Mandy and Elaine and the simple moral being if you are ever unfortunate enough to receive medical help and attention whilst at Trewethett we couldn’t have been in a better place. Thank you so much for all the help and support they gave us throughout this whole ordeal.

Location does not come better than this site……..

Trewethett Farm Club Campsite
We have been coming to this site for over forty years and we never get tired of coming. The location is simply stunning and as it is west facing the sunsets over the Atlantic are a real treat. The front row pitches are the most favourable and as these become available you have to be prepared to do the ‘Trewethett shuffle’ and move your outfit, but well worth the effort. The Wardens have developed a fair system which allows you to move to a more favourable location as these pitches become available. The coastal walking from the site is arduous to Tintagel and Boscastle but is very scenic and well worth the effort. This is certainly one of our most favourable destinations on the network, so please keep this a secret! 🤣🤣 as we don’t want to advertise it too widely.

Wonderful Campsite

Trewethett Farm Club Campsite
There is not more to add to all the previous raving reviews. We have just been for the 4th time and this year ALL the wardens were lovely. Extremely friendly and very helpful. Can’t wait to come back. It really is my favourite place. Beautiful coastal walks. Great workout. Thanks again to the hardworking wardens.
