A site worth a visit

Willingcott Club Campsite
This site is a pleasant surprise. Most club sites are trimmed and regimented, and although we all enjoy the smart appearance of such sites, Willingcott is different. They have taken on a rewilding project to present a far more natural enviroment. A series of ‘Devon Mounds’ are situated around the site abundant with wild meadow flowering. Hedges are kept natural to provide an envoriment for wildlife, and grass is not trimmed as short as other sites with some areas left longer, although the pitches are of course well kept. This provides a very natural feeling, and to be honest, should be copied on other sites. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the facilities are excellent as always. Location is handy for most of the usual attractions of North Devon with beaches close by, and the Tarka cycle trail running directly behind the site. Let’s see more of this as a policy across club sites please. We’ll be back!

Lovely site in a great location to explore North Devon.

Willingcott Club Campsite
We stayed here for the first time a few weeks ago and we will certainly return at some point. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the excellent facilities were very well kept and they were all very busy in keeping the site to a high standard. Plenty of choice of great pitches in good condition and the site is very well located to explore the whole of North Devon. We will certainly stay here again and recommend it!

Recent visit

Willingcott Club Campsite
Having recently stayed at Willingcot club site our initial thoughts on arrival was that the site looked very unloved and very unkept. The grass looked like it needed a good cut and looked a bit like a field with pitches! Not at all pretty. Also, there are no security barriers to stop people entering and leaving the site. Won't be rushing back!

Geocaching Trip

Willingcott Club Campsite
Stayed a few days on this nice quiet site right next to the Tarka Trail. This well surfaced bike friendly path took us to the top of Ilfracombe not into it I might add as we looked at the Big slope down into the town and even with electric bikes turned around. All not lost as we stayed on this site to go Geocaching and the hides along the trail were fantastic , well wort doing and managed to get all we looked for that day. Some other rides did mean we went up some hills that we are sure was too tough for the Tour de France...Vive la Electricity... Friendly wardens and so were the other campers on site.
