Outstanding location and worth the effort to get there

Carradale Bay Caravan Site
Stayed here in August for 6 days this summer. Loved our time here with spectacular views from the site of Arran. Many people, lots of Scots, holiday here every year which says a lot for the popularity of the site. Located next to the beach many people were here for water sports and fishing. Good site for walking the dogs. Nice walk into town, out to the point and up the hill behind the site. Local shop and post office has the basics but limited choice and expensive. Remember you need green chemical fluid for this site. It’s not easy to get here but it’s well worth the trouble. Lots of people get the ferry to Campbeltown but we drove the length of the Mull of Kintyre. Stunning scenery most of the journey. We WILL be back. If you get the chance visit here, it’s worth the effort.

The perfect beachside site

Carradale Bay Caravan Site
This was our second trip to Carradale, our last was 11 years ago. We were fortunate to have excellent weather. It was as good as we remember, nothing has changed. The beach bordering the site is fantastic and even at half term on a sunny day there were no more than 20 people on the mile long stretch of sand. there's just so much room for the kid & dog to run free. The visiting van offering fresh seafood is highly recommended the scallops & linguistine were fantastic. The Glen bar a mile up the drive does excellent food either eat in or take away but you must book in advance. You just have to remember that the nearest shop is about a half hour drive away on single track roads so go prepared. There is very limited phone signal for Vodafone but I understand EE works ok.

Lovely stay

Carradale Bay Caravan Site
This site is off the beaten track, but that is one of its appeals. Magnificent view from the pitch, and near to a picturesque and still working harbour. Definitely take your bike! A dogs paradise with a clean beach to run on just a hop from the van, with the site kept spotless. We chose to use our own facilities given COVID, but the shower block was cleaned regularly and appeared to be kept as clean and safe as was possible, for those who chose to use them. We really enjoyed a trip up to Tarbert. Worth the journey.

Fantastic

Carradale Bay Caravan Site
What an amazing place. With beautiful scenery, the site is peaceful with no traffic noise; all you can hear is the sea and birdsong. It is just what we needed after 6 months of working very hard from home throughout the lockdown. We had a very friendly welcome from Colin. The facilities are good and there are sensible covid-19 arrangements in place. Wifi is free and excellent. Our pitch overlooked the beach with glorious views of the surrounding hills. This is doggy paradise. Do take note of the travelling advice, neither route is easy.

My favourite place

Carradale Bay Caravan Site
This site is the most wonderful site. I can’t fault a thing. Only that we don’t live nearer to come more often
