Why stay here ...

A good choice for those who enjoy solitary tranquillity, at Dunnet Bay Club Campsite you can admire the stunning views over clean washed sands to lovely Dunnet Head, the northernmost point of the British mainland. Located in Dunnet, Thurso, the caravan park is in an area of vast natural beauty - it's a perfect location to unwind from the bustle of day to day life.

Dunnet Bay Club Campsite is ideal for walking expeditions and offers great nearby dog walking too. If you climb Dunnet Head you will be treated to magnificent views over the Pentland Firth to Orkney and a great part of the north coast to Ben Loyal and Ben Hope. To take in local restaurants as well as some retail therapy, a day trip over to Orkney from John O'Groats or Scrabster won't disappoint, in fact you can island-hop the string of islands by both boat and coach. If you're a keen birdwatcher, you can take a ferry trip around the Stacks of Duncansby to see a wealth of seabird life. Anglers are spoilt for choice with sea fishing by boat from Scrabster, fishing from the beach or freshwater fishing nearby. Sites of historic interest include the majestic Castle Mey and Mary Anne's Cottage, a museum detailing crofting life.

Nc500 stop

Dunnet Bay Club Campsite
Used this site for stopover during our nc500 tour with 7m Moho. Lovely position on coast and had sea view pitch. All grass and many uneven. Got here around 2.30pm after visiting John o groats and duncansby stacks and only 4/5 pitches left would have come a little earlier if we had known it was that full. Lovely welcome from wardens. Nice walk on beach to local hotel but no dogs allowed policy and way too windy to eat outside!! Site very exposed to weather. Very full so showers busy next morning. Overall lovely site and would recommend but make sure you have your evening meal with you! No local shop!

Dunnet Bay

Dunnet Bay Club Campsite
A good site next to a long beach with direct access - excellent views. Used it as a stop over when doing the N500. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The facilities clean and tidy. It is a bit exposed if windy and rainy. Easy access to the site and there is an adjacent pay car park if you are not staying to get to the beach!

Jackie

Dunnet Bay Club Campsite
This is a beautiful site and we were made to feel so welcome, but this time we were camping and feel that the pitches for tents are not suitable, there are only 2 pitches for tents and are on the lowest part of the site where water seems to drain off to and they are the furthest from the facilities. The pub up the road is outstanding for meals.

Fantastic views, great hotel near by, lovely cycling too

Dunnet Bay Club Campsite
We stayed here just 2 nights. We were warmly welcomed and wardens had no problem with us moving pitch the following day. Lovely site, beautiful beach, stunning location. We had a lovely meal at the nearby hotel which was about 10 minutes walk. Great cycle to Dunnet Head too.

Superb Location

Dunnet Bay Club Campsite
This is a lovely site in a superb location, next to a wonderful bay. We enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful two-night stay, taking long walks on the beach and watching two great sunsets. Our dog, Geordie, really enjoyed his long walks on the sands. We took the Motorhome out on a short scenic drive to Dunnet Head, which is so much more impressive than John O’Groats! Dunnet Bay was one of the highlights of our tour of north east Scotland.
