This caravan and camping site is one of the best

This caravan and camping site is one of the best we have been to in the entire UK. Picturesque, peaceful, providing a sense of wellbeing. The grounds and the 3 lakes are kept exceptionally well and still being developed. The entire staff are friendly, keen to help and keep their promises. If you're a fisherperson, then this has to be a place to visit. The facilities are unbelievable ... of Boutique Hotel standard including their design, fittings quality and luxurious feeling. Always in pristine condition and so clean. The pitches are all very large. The cafe onsite is set by one of the lakes and provides a really nice place to sit, chat, eat & drink. There are several walks and a circular 2 mile run around all 3 lakes on-site. The local viallage has everything you might need from petrol to food to eating out and takeaway. There is a Tesco Superstore a 10 minute drive away. A first Class site providing a really great place to stay ... ours was for 15 nights.

Excellent Affiliated Site

Trying to think of something negative to say about this site but struggling. Ummm.... well the turn in from the reception to the barrier entrance to the pitch areas is a bit tight if you have a whopping big unit but apart from that. Oh, I suppose the fact you have to walk on grass to plug your electric and water in (serviced pitches) in some areas might be worth mentioning, then again maybe not. If you want to pitch around one of the lake areas then you pay a premium of £6 but then you don't have to pay for fishing. The shop is well stocked and entrance barriers add that bit of security. It's a quiet area and I think most people use it for that reason, oh and the fishing of course. It is ADULTS only. Dog walking around the lakes and local footpaths is good. There is also a C.L., which we have used quite a bit in the past, but this is on grass. Shower block, Elsan point and rubbish bins, including recycling, are well kept. We like to visit various wildlife/bird reserves in the area, plus visit Ely or Peterborough and we would use this site again without hesitation. The site now has a few Pods and Lodges, some of the pods are around the new fishing lake.

Lovely and quiet stay

We stopped here as a quick 2 night stopover in our way home. We found the directions to find the site really good although it was further away from the motorway than we thought. However, it was a happy find and we are so glad we stayed. The site is lovely, large spacious pitches and the facilities in the main park were spot on, very clean and tidy. We took a walk around the site and we're impressed how the site was laid out, each area was spacious but felt intimate at the same time. We had a lovely relaxing 2 nights and will be back to explore the area. We had a lovely welcome and the staff were very friendly, better than some cmc sites we have stayed on. This site will definitely be in our radar to stay longer on.

TRANQUILITY AT ITS BEST

Although we have only being caravanning for 3 years we are always looking for a site that gives the WOW factor. Well Fields End Water certainly does that. Although the weather wasn’t on our side we still had a relaxing and chilled out 3 nights overlooking your new fishing lakes. The facilities are second to non and underfloor heating in the individual ‘en suites’ just added to the overall experience. Will we be back again, without doubt and even though we don’t leave until later today we are already arranging to come back with friends. Our pitch even afforded an unbelievable sunset on 2 occasions making it feel even more special. Thank you

Great Adult Only Site

We chose this site for our first caravan trip as it had fully serviced pitches. The pitches were clean and the toilet and showers were exceptional. Everything was easy to hook up too and the large pitches were great for us to work out awnings etc. The cafe on site provides great food - we had takeaway (on china plates) steak and chips and a delicious full breakfast . We will defiantly be booking this site again :)

Really great stay, highly recommended

We stayed for 5 nights in September on a waterside pitch. We received a really nice welcome and we were directed to our pitch which like all the waterside pitches was spacious and immaculately maintained with a private fishing peg available for use during our stay. The waterside area/pitches is/are a relatively new addition to the site and the dedicated facilities for this area are fantastic and a credit to the site and the staff maintaining them. We took a walk around the full site during our stay and all areas looked great and well maintained. The site has three fishing lakes available; fishing in the waterside area is included in the pitch fees but fishing the other lakes requires the payment of a fee (reduced for residents). It’s fair to say the waterside lake is still becoming established and fishing success was not that good. However, fishing success on the other two lakes was excellent. There is a small cafe on site that is well worth a visit and there are easy walking routes to the nearby village were shops and pubs are located. We would highly recommend this site to others and we would also suggest the owners could consider offering 1 day fishing at no additional cost on any lake for waterside residents for each 3 night stay until the waterside lake becomes more established for fishing. Just a suggestion but one that I’m sure would be very much appreciated by those hoping to enjoy a fishing break. We would highly recommend this site and we will definitely return.

DEFINATELY INTO OUR FAVOURITES LIST

"Cannot Fault This One" We had a touring pitch 9th to 14th September. Even after leaving this review for a few days to reflect, we are unable to fault anything, staff top class, professional and friendly. Pitches are spacious, clean and tidy, grass trimmed, and really quite level. We had a grass pitch, and what a pleasant change from the usual limestone/clinker pitches on most sites that are both drab looking, too solid and reminiscent of sitting in a cheap backstreet parking area. The hardstandings at Fields End are a type of pea shingle, much kinder on the eye and bright even on a dull day. Site was full, but quiet and peaceful, we always use our own facilities so can't comment on that, but it was easy to see on passing every thing is as should be expected. I didn't fish because although I am a fisherman, commercial fisheries are not my style, but to be honest, walking around the lakes, seeing the quality of the fish caught, I think I might be tempted the next time we visit. But if you just want to relax, walk, either with or without a dog, then there are plenty of walks both on site and the surrounding area to explore and enjoy. To recap, we loved it, and after trying to book there for a while, are glad we finally did, and will definitely return. Mr & Mrs A E Simmonds

Caravan and motor home club field known as the CL site

This is a great fishing site and my husband very much enjoyed his fishing experience here. Sadly on arrival and given directions to the CL site we were given a code for the toilet/shower block for this specific area which is right at the back of the site. This block contains a fisherman’s toilet for the day visitors and one separate shower/toilet/sink room which the code is for. This room was filthy! It obviously had not be cleaned recently and the toilet seat was not even attached to the toilet and just slipped straight off. The were dozens of dead insects that had obviously been there for weeks, cobwebs, the toilet was dirty, the shower cubicle was very mouldy and extremely uninviting, the emergency cord was wrapped up and absolutely filthy! There was no washing up facility either! Due to this we reported it to reception and asked if we could use the facilities in the main park instead and the lovely lady at reception apologised straight away and said of course. However a male member of staff was not so friendly and interrupted to say we could only use the main park facilities until the seat was fixed and toilet cleaned. We used the main facilities for our entire stay of 3 days which were beautiful. Spotlessly clean, plenty of hot water, flowers in a vase and nice background music in the washing up area, a totally different experience. I did pop back to the CL toilet and the seat was fixed but the room was still filthy. The difference in price between areas is only £2. Per night for same pitch. We did feel like second class guests on the CL field. It was a long walk back and forth for the toilet {especially during the night} shower and wash up! Luckily the weather was kind to us! We would go back but we would never stain in the CL part again.

Excellent

Wish we could of had more days there as we only stayed the one night/day. We arrived late due to a breakdown, on arrival we were meet a lovely lady who really helpful and kind. The stay all but to short was a very pleasant and relaxing time, the facilities were spotlessly clean, with ample hot water for the shower etc. We certainly hope to go back and stay longer and enjoy it more. Would recommend it to others as a great place to stay. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

Not that Tranquil

Nice location but there are a few annoying issues with the site. If you're allocated a pitch near the reception, it gets annoying because of the noise caused by vehicles running over gravel - especially early in the morning. Day anglers arrive all through the day making it worse. I couldn't find any recycling bins. You have to use a dirty, smelly industrial size bin, in a dirty area of the car park, the walk to and from it (if on the Paddock) is a pain. Our pitch 47 had a large hole right where the motorhome needed to be pitched, as for the pitches, they are not marked out or defined very well, consequently people just walk through them. The facility for taking on water and dumping grey waste is poorly designed for anything but the smallest of motorhomes. If you like fishing then you'll probably like the set up.....if you don't fish it's not that tranquil...
