Lovely open well-run site with views, and a warm welcome from the hard-working staff. This is a good site for access to the Northern Lakes area, and in particular Ullswater. The Aira Force Falls are certainly worth a visit. A few points to note though; a) depending on which pitch you are on, you may have walk about 8 minutes before even reaching the entrance to the dog walk (at the far end of the serviced pitch section), which inevitably means the dog has one of those 'accidents' en-route, often next to someone's pitch! b) TV reception is poor and I had a bit of difficulty even with a booster cable; c) there is no wifi; d) fish and chips on a Friday are tasty and good value. All-in-all, a lovely site with relatively easy access from the M6 and A66 but the road up from Ullswater (A5091) is a bit narrow in places.
