Been on wooded sites before, but this one was disappointing, hard to distinguish pitches because of the undergrowth, we are all in favour of areas being left for wildlife, but don’t expect to pitch amongst it. The pitches are very haphazard and it’s a bit of a free for all, most guests doing their own thing. The 10am arrivals is ridiculous with people going round site in vehicles looking to see who’s leaving, placing objects on pitches and parking up until vacated, we saw this twice where we were, putting people under pressure to pack up, why is this site not 1pm like others. The approach roads are a nightmare although followed directions in book care must be taken !! Never saw any staff doing any groundwork although a lot of areas could be strimmed and weeding done, been a member for 30 yrs, the quality of members has deteriorated, not liked it used to be. On booking in the member of staff was on the phone, and I stood for a good 5-10 mins before being acknowledged, although voices in the back, nobody came out, I picked up my paper work off table and was told some was for children, and I had none with me, so put it back. The only time we saw any staff was toilet cleaning, and bin emptying, why does this site need so many ? On a lighter note, the walk down to the lake was lovely anyone into water sports will enjoy, and the birdsong is beautiful. Sorry won’t be back, this site needs a lot of work, or staff willing to get their finger out instead of chatting in the office.
