Visit Cae Hir Gardens, one of Wales’ best loved gardens, nestled in the foothills of the glorious Cambrian Mountains near Lampeter, the gardens were created by Dutchman Wil Akkermans who started with just three fields of rough farmland in 1983. Get tails wagging as your pooch joins you on-board the Avon Valley Railway, in Bristol. Opened in 1869 by the Midland Railway as a route between the Midlands and the South Coast, it was axed in the 1960’s before being lovingly restored and preserved by railway enthusiasts. You can take a ride in a heritage carriage behind one of their locomotives, walk alongside the track on the Bristol and Bath Railway Path or see the beautifully restored Victorian station at Bitton.
