Great welcome and helpful staff

Ayr Craigie Gardens Club Campsite
We stayed on this site for two nights whilst travelling south after three weeks touring Scotland. We arrived later than expected but received a very warm welcome which was much appreciated at the end of a long day. The next day our gas supply failed but we were soon pointed in the direction of a local motor home dealership where the problem was resolved. The site itself is perfectly located with a lovely riverside walk into Ayr town centre which we very much enjoyed. The warmth of the welcome and the help we received with the gas supply problem meant that we left on a high and will definitely come back to this site.

First Visit

Ayr Craigie Gardens Club Campsite
This part of Scotland was new to us. As we have a motorhome we like sites where you can leave the van on site and explore by foot or by bus and this site fits that bill. It has a lovely wooded surroundings which belies the fact that you are in an urban environment. As for facilities I think the toilet block is overdue for a refurbishment. Perfectly clean of course as you would expect but old fashioned. I particularly disliked the level of lighting and a small amount of investment it could be improved with the use of LED lights. Good to see an open grill motorhome waste point but surely the positioning at the very end of the layby could be better? We walked into the town a couple of times and also out to the seashore. We only discovered there were instructions on a short cut into town the second time! Ayr has a pretty good shopping centre and there are a couple of larger supermarkets nearby. You could take the train to Glasgow from Ayr as the station is not too far from the site.

Extremely impressive site

Ayr Craigie Gardens Club Campsite
First time staying on this site and definitely will be back. Greeted by welcoming happy staff, who are so helpful, nothing is a bother. The park is well laid out and well presented . Toilets / Showers immaculate and thoroughly cleaned daily. Pitches are large. It is well positioned to walk into Ayr. Definitely will return. Thanks to the staff

First class staff and spotless

Ayr Craigie Gardens Club Campsite
Stayed here for 3 nights and it was first class, spotless, the manager Mick and his staff could not do enough to help us out as we are new to motorhomeing. The site was great for everything from getting in and around Ayr as well as touring around. The site was spotlessly clean as were the grounds and all grass areas and flowers were well looked after. I big thank you to Mick and his team.

Our favourite site. Return every year!

Ayr Craigie Gardens Club Campsite
This is our favourite club site mostly because of the location. Ideal site for guests with dogs. Great walks just off site along both sides of the river without having to go near a road and it’s an easy walk to town and the beach. Also great country parks such as Roselle, Eglington and Dean Country Parks all with great dog walks and within short drives. The wardens welcome you like old friends and never pass by you without a greeting. They keep the on-site facilities spotless however the toilet and shower blocks are long overdue modernisation. The site grounds are also well tended by them. Their check in process is the best! They meet you at the barrier with their list of bookings then you return to the office once you’ve chosen your pitch to make payment and collect barrier key. The on-site security is great as entry and exit are both barrier controlled. Ayr itself is rather run down but most towns are nowadays but there’s still all the main shops to browse. The beach is spotless with lots of free parking on the beach access road. We visit this site every year and will definitely continue to do so.
