Why stay here ...

One of the best kept secrets on the network, Dockray Meadow Club Campsite in Lamplugh puts you within easy reach of lesser-known lake gems, such as Cogra Moss, Ennerdale, Loweswater, Crummock Water, Buttermere, Derwentwater and Keswick. With its scenic surroundings of hills and trees, the caravan park offers a great getaway for the family. It is also a great choice for dog owners with lovely walks from the site.

Dockray Meadow Club Campsite has a little something for all tastes. You may opt to unwind alongside the tumbling stream, watching the red squirrels dart about. For the more energetic, there are plenty of walks from and around the caravan site where you can take in the glorious fell scenery. Cyclists won't be disappointed, since the Coast to Coast Cycle Route is a short distance away. Other excursions within easy reach include the St Bees Head Nature Reserve, several nearby National Trust sites and the lovely old market town of Cockermouth, famous for being the birthplace of William Wordsworth.

Fabulous

Dockray Meadow Club Campsite
We had three nights at Dockray Meadow on our way back from Scotland, would have loved to stay longer, the site is so peaceful and quiet, Lamplugh is on the edge of the National Park, ideally situated for eveything the Lakes has to offer, easy access, good size pitches and friendly, helpful wardens.

Beautiful location, & so quiet

Dockray Meadow Club Campsite
We discovered this site as I wanted to explore the north of the Lakes. This sight does not have facilities but that was fine with us. Its location is amazing, and so quiet. The wardens were so friendly and helpful, suggesting walks for us to do. There is a beautiful walk directly from the site, round Congra moss and up Blake Fell. Views from the top of Blake Fell were stunning. Well worth the climb. The site is also a short drive away from St Bees, which is an RSPB site. A beautiful cliff top walk to see nesting sea birds.

Campervan Visit September 2021

Dockray Meadow Club Campsite
Excellent site which was well maintained by very friendly wardens. Pitch size variable and some pitches shaded. Very quiet and were regaled by the Tawny Owls at night. Sadly no red squirrels seen as they seem to have been put off by some of the tethered dogs! Useful information on local short walks and good access to the high fells above Cogra Moss for longer excursions. Surrounding roads relatively quiet so walking to and around Ennerdale Water was not a problem. Easy access to site as only a short distance from the main road.

amazing

Dockray Meadow Club Campsite
so my second visit here this year and already booked for next, this is the kind of site i like very rural and quiet. you use your own facilities in you van, the way camping should be and well done for keeping this site this way. there are really good staff who are very knowable on the local area. within easy reach of Whitehaven and other local villages. the site itself is well lade out and so full of wildlife it truly amazing and together with the dedicated staff makes it a lovely place to visit. there are many lovely walks with beautiful scenery in this area really worthwhile visiting here. we have found everyone on this site each time we have come here very friendly just like all the club sites. so if you love peace and quiet with lovely walks with bundle of nature especially those crazy squirrels you will love it here.
