Summer may be behind us but touring in autumn and winter can be a real delight. And with more than 50 Club and Affiliated sites (along with a multitude of Certificated Locations) open all year, it's easy to enjoy the network during the colder seasons, especially as the late availability page on the Club website is updated daily.

So why not head to the coast and enjoy a crisp morning walk on a beach (or a paddle in the sea if you're feeling brave!), stay at one of our campsites near London and experience the many attractions the capital has to offer, or get close to nature by visiting a glorious national park? Better still, there are often great deals to take advantage of at our sites during the cooler months, perhaps leaving you with a little extra to enjoy a drink by a roaring fire in a country pub!

Coniston Park Coppice, Cumbria

Whether you are looking for an active break or to simply sit back and unwind, Coniston Park Coppice is the perfect destination. Set within the heart of the Lake District, the opportunities for walking or cycling in stunning surroundings are almost endless.

If getting out on the water is more your thing, the campsite is just a short walk from a lakeside launching point (you could bring along your own vessel or hire a kayak, canoe, boat or paddleboard). If you fancy a more relaxed trip on Coniston Water, why not climb aboard the National Trust's popular Steam Yacht Gondola? The 50% midweek discount also applies at this site through to December 2022*.

Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire

Fancy a frosty, early-morning walk through wonderful countryside? If the answer is yes, then Moreton-in-Marsh Club Site is an ideal base thanks to its position on the northern edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is also an extensive list of picture-postcard villages to explore in close vicinity to the site, from historic Moreton-in-Marsh itself to the achingly pretty Lower Slaughter and Bourton-on-the-Water. If you fancy a bit more hustle and bustle or the chance to do some Christmas shopping then Cheltenham is also easy to get to by car, bus or train. You can also stay in one of our cosy glamping pods at this site.

Crystal Palace, London

Want the best of both worlds? Well you can have it at Crystal Palace Club Site, which is perfectly positioned for visits to the bright lights and attractions of London but still manages to offer a tranquil setting in which to just sit back and watch the world go by. It is possible to walk the seven miles into central London (although you might not want to walk back again!) or you can jump on a bus from the stop near the site and travel all the way to Oxford Street. There is plenty to do without venturing into the centre, though, with the neighbouring park offering lots of opportunities to walk, cycle or even go boating on the lake. Nearby Dulwich Village is also a great location for a relaxed afternoon stroll followed by tea and cake.

Henley Four Oaks, Oxfordshire

Brush up on your royal history during a stay at the picturesque Henley Four Oaks Club Site, which is well placed for visits to both Windsor Castle and Hampton Court Palace. Windsor Castle – the world's oldest and largest inhabited palace – has housed 39 monarchs since the 11th century, while you can learn more about the life of Henry VIII at Hampton Court and even go ice skating during the winter months (booking in advance is necessary for both venues)! The town of Henley is also great for a stroll – or you could jump on a boat for a trip along the Thames.

Cheddar, Somerset

This is another site offering a plethora of options for bracing autumn or winter walks thanks to its location on the edge of the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From your pitch it is easy to stroll into Cheddar village and around the gorge – there are sensational views from the top over the surrounding countryside and Cheddar Reservoir. If the weather is not on your side, then a good option is to explore the caves at Cheddar or nearby Wookey Hole, while England's smallest city, Wells,with its magnificent cathedral, is a short drive away. The seaside resorts of Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea are also within easy reach along with the cities of Bristol and Bath.

Bridlington, Yorkshire

Bridlington Club Site boasts 81 all-weather pitches, making it ideal for a winter break. Miles of stunning Yorkshire coastline stretch both north and south from near the site and nature lovers will be in their element. Nearby Flamborough Head is home to one of the most important seabird colonies in Europe (even in winter it attracts species such as snow buntings, waxwings and rough-legged buzzards) while just along the coast is Bempton Cliffs RSPB Reserve. The seaside resorts of Bridlington and Scarborough are within easy reach while, heading inland, the North York Moors National Park and the city of York make for excellent day trips.
