Pennine

Conway Trailers started in 1968 and were based in Wigan in Lancashire. The Club has brochures for Conway Supertrailer tents dating back to 1972 and the company offered three models the Cruiser, Capri and Campa. Accrington-based Pennine Engineering was formed in 1977 and the oldest brochure in our files is from 1981, offering the consumer two models the Aztec and the Alpine. Our archives show Conway moved premises during the 2002/2003 season to Pennine’s premises in Accrington. The companies operated separately until 2006 when they became the Pennine Leisure Group.

The Group have won the Folding Campers class each year since 2005 when the Conway Crusader (Folding Campers or Extendible Folding Caravan Class), the Crusader went on to win in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. The Pennine Concorde scooped the award in 2007, however it is the Pathfinder that has received the most awards with an astonishing 8 class wins. It is not only in the Folding Campers Class that Pennine Outdoor Leisure have received awards, they also won the now-defunct Folding Caravans class with their Artemis back in 2012.
