Honda are regular attendees of Towcar of the Year with the judges constantly praising their comfortable driving positions, powerful acceleration and VTEC engines.
Back in 1988, Honda won their price class with their Prelude 2.0i – 16. This produced power figures of 150bhp@6000rpm and 133lb/ft@5500rpm torque, which compared to their Civic 1.5 VTEC entered in this year’s competition which had power and torque figures of 180@5500rpm and 177@1900-5000 respectively, this highlights how far engines have progressed in almost 30 years.
