A lovely site in a good location but road noise

This is a lovely well laid out site with good facilities - even though the site was full one of the toilet blocks was closed during our stay but the remaining one coped perfectly well and was kept immaculate. As on many sites, the service pitches were amongst the worst on the site. They also suffered, like most of the site, with continuous and intrusive road noise although the pitches nearest the play area were much quieter for road noise. One thing to be aware of is that the army have a major training centre in Brecon not far from the site and on weekdays they use the rifle range for training. The site staff were nice. The shop well stocked and reasonable. The site was expensive relative to non club sites even with a mid-week discount.

Loved It

A very easy site to find and access. we received a warm welcome and found a large level pitch. Facilities were plentiful and spotless. WiFi strong. The stroll to Brecon is easy and the town a delight. However, if you fancy a walk don't miss Pen y Fan (the slog yields stunning 360 views) or the Four Waterfalls Walk (absolutely spell-binding if you can spare 4 hours). A little road noise at the site barely registered with us and wouldn't stop us returning. Thank you.

Best site we have stayed on

Brecon is by far the best site we have stayed on. That's not just including our short fortnight's tour this month, it is in many years touring experience. The walk into Brecon is lovely along the canal and a visit to the Clarence Inn is a must for anyone with a dog who wants a good eating experience. The shop on the Brecon site is amazing! How much lovely stuff is there and the friendly, cheerful and smiley lady and her daughter who run it are the best. The prices are good and I am really regretting not buying that white fleece blanket which I keep dreaming of! Thank you for a super stay, we'll be back!

Excellent Site

We stayed for 8 nights in May with our 2 cocker spaniels. This is by far the best site we have stayed at, after 2.5 years of touring. Apart from some road noise, we couldn't fault anything. The Three Horseshoes Pub was a 15 minute walk away, and a 1.5 mile or so stroll along the canal took you into Brecon itself. Clearly the area is for those who wish to have a more adventurous type holiday, but there is enough to do for everyone, whatever their ability. The staff were 10 out of 10, as well as the facilities. Brilliant shop, very well stocked and reasonably priced. We have nothing bad to say, we loved it here and will be back next year, but for longer. As a Welshman, I felt very proud that a site located in this area of outstanding beauty was so good.

Good position for walking and eating

Was put off staying at this site because of remarks regarding road noise. There are pitches that are further away from the roads so that the noise is minimised. All as expected from C&M sites efficient pleasant staff and clean facilities. Good for walking into Brecon, about 2 miles and also along the canal path to Pencilli, about 4 miles along the tow path or 3.5 if you use a B road for parts of the way. The local pub, Three Horse Shoes, about three quarters of a mile is an absolute find with great food. The walk is along a track and a quiet country lane. The dog walk is also excellent.

Some traffic noise.

Excellent site. Level with easy access. Staff helpful. Facilities clean and tidy. There is some road noise due to imbeciles on motorbikes screaming up and down the surrounding roads, especially at weekends. There is a wedding venue next to the site, so you may hear some music if there happens to be one going on while you are there, (never experienced this myself). DON'T GET FOOLED INTO USING THE ONSITE WIFI. I did, (on this and a previous site). It took my money and refused to allow me access despite showing me how many hours, minutes and seconds I still had left. Total rip off......TWICE. Never again. (No reply to my complaint from either site as yet).

Lovely quiet chill out

Very efficient & friendly welcome upon arrival. Well stocked shop. Great dog walking areas, close to canal links for Brecon & Pencelli. Absolutely spotless shower / toilet facilities. Would definitely return.

Ideal for Brecon and the Beacons

First time here. Welcoming staff, although agree with other reviewers that it is a little confusing trying to find ‘your pitch’ other sites use a pitch reservation system which would be good?) Decided on Pitch 65-67. In hindsight we would have tried to go for one further from the main roads (noisy!) Also, one electrical hook up point on shared post not working (reported but not fixed), also the water for our ‘serviced pitch’ stopped working after a few hours. By this time we were settled and didn’t want to go through relocation (lazy I know). But we had faith that site staff would resolve (unfortunately not) On the positive side, it’s a clean, tidy and well maintained site Ablutions block was spotless and warm Small but well stocked site shop Short walk to local pub (Three Horse Shoes) Nice walk along tow path to Brecon Ideal for Beacons

Good for access to Brecon but...................

There is a lack of choice if you want to stay close to Brecon so to moan about the proximity of the road is a bit pointless, but it is a noisy site almost all over the site. As usual facilities are spotless, there is a large children's play area (with equipment) and a "better than most" dog walking area. Walking to Brecon town and to a local pub are all within easy reach. However, there is more white paint on the roads than on a town centre carpark with a one way system which leaves you dizzy. Following a not very friendly "welcome" we were told to look for a red marker pitch, but not where there were any free spaces - 2 loops around the one way system including an exit barrier and re-admittance required to find anything. Can the booking system not reveal the remaining vacant pitches? We didn't need a full service pitch, but this was the only option available on booking despite there being a number of empty standard and grass pitches on site. All pitches are highly regimented with no inter-pitch planting to offer some privacy or soften the image. Notices everywhere telling (not asking) you what you can and can't do. PS: We've just paid £12 less for a 3 day stay than for the 2 days at Brecon; OK the facilities are not the same standard, but the site location (lakeside), the welcome and the ambiance are far superior.

Superb closeby dog walk - a bit noisey

Very very organised site manned by exceptionally helpful staff. The covid regulations feel a bit excessive nowadays. There is a fair amount of noise from the nearby road, but you soon get used to it and it is not onerous. Superb and lovely walk along a river nearby on the quiet side of the site. Fantastic views to the Brecons from the local pub which is maybe 15-20 mins walk. Brecon town is charming and better resourced than we expected, and worth a saunter around. An efficient site with views to the hills from areas on the site.
